- This Staff RN will be working in our Trauma II Emergency Department at Mount Carmel East three 12-hour shifts per week from 6pm - 6:30am with rotating weekends and holidays. ED Experience Required.

Position Purpose:
The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. Our unit also includes a well-baby nursery, licensed lactation consultants and a full coverage medical staff team. Our patients are offered 24 hour rooming in experience, breast feeding support and best practice nursing care.

Mount Carmel East features a fully integrated cardiovascular center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, a dedicated Women’s Health Center, a maternity center, a Network Cancer Program, and a comprehensive orthopedics and spine program. We’re also home to Mount Carmel’s Level II Trauma Center, providing critical access to vital emergency services to eastern central Ohio.

The Medical Intermediate Care Unit (MIMCU) at Mount Carmel East has 6-18 beds and delivers care on a ratio of 1:4. The Registered Nurse (RN) could expect to see cases related to respiratory failure, sepsis, covid, phycological disorders, drug overdoses, surgical, diabetes, and more. Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
For Casual RNs 2 years of experience is required.
All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject to participate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.

Position Purpose:
The Medical Surgical (Med Surg) Oncology unit at Mount Carmel East is 28 beds. The Registered Nurse would expect to see a mixture of oncology and hospice patients while also serving the med surg population. Our certified RNs administer IV and PO chemotherapy and take care of patients who are getting outpatient cancer treatment but need to be hospitalized between their treatments.
In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Staff Registered Nurse, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
What You Will Do:
- Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice; Assists provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments; Perform basic medical procedures under the supervision of a provider, including set up of procedures.
- Administer medications under the direction of the provider, according to the organization’s standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- Assist in emergency situations under the direction of the provider
- Thoroughly educate and explain procedures to patients and family members (diagnosis, disease process etc.).
- Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a school of nursing
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
- Current BLS/CPR
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team
- Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred

Position Purpose:
The Disease Management Coordinator provides consultation to patients, families, and nursing personnel regarding the care of a specific disease entity/process and its impact to patients, assumes a leadership role in issues related to patient outcomes, and acts as a change agent to support institutional initiatives pertaining to disease management.

What You Will Do:
Care Coordination – Coordinates inpatient care for specific disease/population. Rounds with physicians (as available and feasible) to insure continuity of care including discharge planning. Assures appropriate care coordination or plan of care is implemented for individual heart failure patients.
Continuity Planning – Identifies discharge needs, coordinates planning, and problem solves continuity issues to ensure seamless continuum of patient care; collaborates with hospital based case managers to ensure effective care continuum and discharge plans are met. Assures appropriate clinical information is provided to outside agencies
Collaboration – collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare disciplines, and outside agencies regarding patient stay management and care coordination issues. Initiates appropriate consults, e.g., physician and other ancillary services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from school of nursing; BSN or Master’s Degree preferred
Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio
Experience: Minimum of five years recent acute care clinical experience in disease specialty nursing (in an acute care setting and/or physician office setting); med/surg and critical care experience helpful.
