MHS is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this unique and life-changing career, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home. Flex Houseparents play a vital role in creating a structured, family-like environment that fosters students’ academic, emotional, and social development so they can reach their full potential.

Responsibilities include:


  • Providing daily supervision and mentorship
  • Managing household routines and student schedules

Using tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.

Assembling, installing, or repairing wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.

Diagnosing mechanical problems and determining how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.

Inspecting, operating, or testing machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.

7.

Repairing or replacing defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.

8.

Maintaining and repairing specialized equipment and machinery found in cafeterias, laundries, hospitals, stores, offices, or factories.

9.

Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you should have the following qualifications: 1.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, including experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

2.

Proven experience in equipment maintenance, with strong mechanical and electrical skills.

3.

Proficiency in troubleshooting and repair, with the ability to read and understand blueprints.

4.

Experience with welding, plumbing, and the use of hand and power tools.

5.

Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor systems.

6.

Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols.

7.

Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
