We are seeking a dynamic Nurse Manager to lead our Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center (HCMC) in Columbia, MD. What You Will Do:
As the Manager of Nursing for Labor & Delivery, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team and ensure an exceptional birthing experience that has been trusted by parents-to-be for generations. You will advocate for and allocate available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice. The Nurse Manager will facilitate an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and others. The nurse manager must create a learning environment that is open and respectful, and promotes the sharing of expertise to promote the benefits of health outcomes. The ability of nurse managers to enhance the practice environment is critical to the recruitment and retention of registered nurses with diverse backgrounds and appropriate education and experience. Nurse managers contribute to the strategic planning process, day-to-day operations, standards of care, and attainment of goals of the organization. Nurse managers collaborate with the nurse executive and others in organizational planning, innovation, and evaluation.

Who Should Apply:
- Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing.
- Master’s degree in Nursing or related field required. If Master’s degree is not in nursing, must hold BSN.
Qualified applicants can be placed in the position if they hold a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and agree to complete a Master’s degree in nursing or related field. Steady progress toward degree completion is defined as a minimum of 9 credits per calendar year from the time they begin coursework. Course work must begin within 6 months of moving into the position.
- Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in health care setting required of which at least three (3) years must include administrative
and supervisory responsibilities.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse by the State of Maryland.
- Must maintain current CPR certification.
- Nationally recognized certification in nursing administration and/or an appropriate specialty preferred.
Salary Range: Minimum 56.34/hour - Maximum 87.32/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.

Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist radiologist with imaging procedures starting IV's and injecting contrast if applicable.
* Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.
* Evaluate CT scans for technical quality collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Film transmits to PACS.
* Charge procedures and supplies correctly.
* Assists in the administration and administers various chemical substances to render specific organs or systems more opaque. Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
* Reviews patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained.
* Quality controls all images maintains inventory and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel including students.
* Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration.
* Maintain accurate patient records.
* Assist with providing orientation and training to new CT technologists.
* Manage scheduling and patient flow on multiple interventional CT scanners.
* Assist with research and development with CT equipment manufacturer to develop new CT software and new technologies when asked.
* Participate in research initiatives and development of research protocols.
* Monitor charging of CT procedures and supplies daily to ensure correctness.
* Participates in inter or intra departmental performance improvement.
* Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for the exam requested.
* Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts.
* Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety department safety and specific job-related hazards.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Current Maryland State License required
Licenses and Certifications
* ARRT required
* Certified Cat Scan Technologist required
* CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required

Primary Duties:
* Performs all forms of ultrasound imaging and assists in interventional procedures on adult and pediatric patients. Explains procedures, screens, prepares, and positions patients for examinations.

Qualifications:
* Associate degree or 1-3 years formal training in ultrasonography.
