Supervises and coordinates the operation and performance of the diagnostic area of Radiology in coordination with the professional staff, Chief Radiologist, Chief Technologist, Assistant Director and/or Director of Radiology.

Performs administrative and patient care duties and ensures the prompt and efficient performance of all procedures.

Keeps abreast of new technical and theoretical concepts and disseminates departmental information.

Supports University Health's policies, values and guest relations initiatives at all times.

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Certification by the Texas Department of Health (MRT) is mandatory.

Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) from the American Heart Association is mandatory.

Three years supervisory experience in a radiology department is required.

Three years of managerial experience is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Assists Community First Health Plan (CFHP) members regain optimum health or improved functional capacity by ensuring that members have access to all of the health care services they need in the most efficient and effective manner possible.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing the allocation of resources, cost and quality of health care for members; coordinating care between the primary care physician, community resources, family and member; coordinating care across the health care continuum while monitoring and managing benefit utilization; and, collaborating with multi-disciplinary health care team members in identifying the educational and discharge needs of members.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Registered Nurse (RN) is required.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master's degree is preferred.

Minimum three (3) years nursing, acute care, quality management or managed care experience is required.

Basic knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, community resources and alternate funding programs is desired.

Knowledge of InterQual screening criteria as well as DRG, ICD and CPT coding is preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners is required.

Current certification from an appropriate professional agency, such as Case Management Society, is preferred.

Provides primary health care and performs selective medical services under the direction of specialty physicians.

Responsible for diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients by completing medical histories, conducting physicals, establishing diagnosis through tests, and formulating treatment plans.

Provides follow-up and health maintenance care of patients in accordance with protocols approved by a physician.

Successful Completion of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or by that committee's predecessor or successor entities is required.

One year of training in the appropriate specialty is required.

Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is recommended.

Must be currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas.

Must maintain current AHA BLS or higher in accordance with Medical-Dental Staff and UMA bylaws.

Valid DEA number must be obtained within 90-days of hire.

Three years recent, full-time hospital experience preferred.

Work experience in case management, utilization review or hospital quality assurance experience is preferred.

Must complete a Clinical Documentation Improvement Course within specified time of hire date.

Current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a registered nurse is required.

National certification in related field is preferred.

Case Manager Certification (CCM or ANCC) is highly desirable.
