Healthcare Attorney
A growing healthcare‐focused legal team is seeking an experienced Healthcare Attorney with deep knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate has hands‐on experience advising providers, healthcare organizations, and executives on complex regulatory compliance matters, with particular strength in fraud‐and‐abuse laws and operational healthcare issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Advise clients on compliance with the Stark Law, including physician self‐referral rules, exceptions, and structuring compliant financial relationships
• Counsel healthcare providers and organizations on the Anti‐Kickback Statute, safe harbors, risk mitigation strategies, and enforcement trends
• Provide guidance on Corporate Practice of Medicine (CPOM) restrictions, entity structuring, management services arrangements, and state‐specific regulatory considerations
• Draft, review, and negotiate healthcare operational agreements, including physician contracts, MSAs, and compensation arrangements
• Support clients in responding to audits, investigations, and regulatory inquiries
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide proactive compliance strategies
Qualifications
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in the applicable state (Texas or specify as needed)
• Minimum 3–7 years of healthcare regulatory or transactional experience
• Demonstrated expertise with Stark Law, Anti‐Kickback Statute, and CPOM
• Strong analytical, communication, and client‐counseling skills
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast‐paced environment

Responsibilities
- Defend clients in insurance defense litigation.
- Handle discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Communicate with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel.
- Participate in trial preparation and potentially act as first or second chair at trial.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

What's the Job?
- Prepare, review, and file drawback claims with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of import and export transactions to support drawback filings.
- Analyze import and export data to identify opportunities for duty recovery.
- Communicate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other trade partners to obtain required documentation.
- Monitor claim status, respond to CBP inquiries, and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure adherence to current U.S. Customs laws, regulations, and company compliance policies.
- Assist with audits and internal reviews of drawback claims.
- Develop and maintain process improvements to maximize efficiency and recovery potential.
- Provide reporting and updates to management regarding drawback activity, recovery
- performance, and potential risks.
What's Needed?
- 2+ years of experience in customs compliance, trade compliance, or drawback programs.
- Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR) and duty drawback procedures.
- Experience with drawback software or trade compliance systems.
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or working toward licensure.
- Familiarity with Free Trade Agreements, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, and import/export documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
