Summary:Anesthetizes patients undergoing surgical, medical, obstetrical, diagnostic, psychiatric, or resuscitative procedures either by general, regional, or monitored anesthesia.

The schedule for this position will be 4 10s per week with no call.

Responsibilities:Assesses patient pre-operatively in a timely and efficient manner. This includes performance of history and physical, development of anesthesia plan of care, documentation of assessment and plan, explanation of care, risks and benefits to patient and family, assembly of equipment and drugs. Meets annual departmental quality metrics for turnover times, on-time starts and QI submissions.Attends continuing education and professional meetings, participates in institutional and departmental committees, and contributes to the clinical learning experience of other health care professionals.Contributes to performance improvement. Evaluates problem areas, plans and implements measures to assure improvement in patient outcomes, assists in collection of data and participates in Impact Care activities.Maintains anesthesia records, Impact Care reports and other documents in a legible mannerProvides anesthesia. This includes performs ASA-approved checklist of equipment, provides safe environment for patient, administers anesthesia in accordance with the Department of Anesthesiology standards of care, places appropriate lines and monitors, adjusts care and notifies appropriate personnel in abnormal situations, transports patient at the end of the case, reports pertinent information, documents anesthesia care.

Summary: Administers radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients.

Works includes assessment, intervention, calculations, documentation and patient education.

Works is performed under the general supervision of a radiation therapy supervisor and is evaluated by conformance to standards and procedures.

Responsibilities: 1.

Administers radiation therapy in accordance with physician's instructions and the patient's treatment plan.

Enters data into computer and set controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage.

Assists physicians, radiation oncologists, clinical physicists and others as necessary to prepare physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans, using information about patient condition and anatomy.

Constructs patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians 3.

Maintains patient and billing records, reports and files according to department policies and procedures, including information as radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patients? reactions 4.

Performs routine and complex radiation therapy treatments such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and low and high brachytherapy according to established practices and standards.

Prepares equipment and room for patient.

Uses appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure safety of patients, self, and others.

Performs quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines.

Provides on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Ambulatory setting in accordance with University Health policies and standards. Supports and promotes University Health values to ensure patient/guest relations. Performs the nursing process in a safe therapeutic manner in a designated clinic setting. Maintains, facilitates and promotes department policies and standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing is required. Starting pay varies based on experience; entry up to 2 years, 2-3 years and 4 years or more experience in health care delivery as an LVN. PALS and ACLS certification may be required based on site location.

LICENSURE

Must possess a current license to practice Vocational Nursing in the State of Texas. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
