About the Role

As a Medical Lab Scientist, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care by performing accurate and timely laboratory testing used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Testing domains include waived, moderate, and high‑complexity procedures.  Required: Experience with waived, moderate, and high‑complexity testing in a clinical laboratory setting—through education or hands‑on work experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform and document laboratory testing—including pre‑analytical steps—following standard operating procedures and accreditation standards to ensure high‑quality patient care.
  • Conduct and evaluate quality control procedures for tests, equipment, reagents, and media.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve testing variances by implementing corrective actions to ensure accurate, reliable results.

What You’ll Need

Education (Required)

Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate Degree in one of the following:

  • Medical Laboratory Science Program
  • Medical Technologist
  • Medical Technician
  • Biology
  • Chemistry

Preferred Licensure/Certification

  • ASCP‑certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent
  • Other acceptable certifications: ASCP or HEW

The Apheresis Nurse performs apheresis procedures on patients and donors in a professional manner, which focuses on the needs of the patient/donor and exemplifies the service excellence goals of care, concern, respect and cooperation.

Therapeutic Procedures:

-Plasma Exchange (Plasmapheresis)

- Red Cell Exchange

-Leukapheresis (Leukacollection)

-Stem Cell Collection

Schedule: 5x8's M-F 7am-3:30pm. **On-Call Required

What Registered Nurse RN will need: 

  • A Degree from an accredited school/college of nursing is required - BSN or ADN
  • BLS Provider (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire
  • Illinois Board of Nursing license prior to hire

BSN Pay Range: $34.76 - $57.06 per hour 

ADN Pay Range: $32.31 - $50.71 per hour 

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.

  • Minimum two (2) years of recent clinical experience for all remaining specialties including Critical Care, Surgical Services, Maternal Services, Emergency Department and Behavioral Health.   

  • Required to have and maintain the credentials required per their specialty area (ex: ACLS, TNCC, etc). BLS, ACLS and PALS must be obtained through American Heart Association
