About this Position:Β
Provide equipment availability through technical expertise, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance to achieve manufacturing production target
Β
Responsibilities include:
- Confirm equipment operates to and maintains compliance to safety, quality and environmental standards
- Support production team to achieve daily targets.
- Successfully complete required preventive and planned maintenance per plan, utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to meet equipment quality and availability
- Support projects to ensure the success of New Model and Business Plan strategies to improve department characteristics
- Understand equipment functionality and operational characteristics to perform an efficient and effective recovery
- Utilize any and all available troubleshooting tools and resources to facilitate efficient equipment repair and/or recovery
- Develop capability of self and team by mentoring, training, and sharing of experience to ensure technical skill set growth.
- Utilize basic root cause analysis logic to improve equipment availability and apply countermeasures to meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale and Environment targets.
- Maintain daily communication and reporting to ensure accurate transfer of information utilizing & accurately documenting activity in CMMS (Maximo) to capture labor time, resources applied (parts),
conditions identified, & details of task performed. - Understand equipment safety specifications and maintain it's integrity to ensure Associate safety.
- Complete scheduled work and training as assigned by ESTC & MESD Planners to meet Production & MESD goals

- Associate degree in technical field or a certificate program in relevant Equipment/Maintenance field preferred - or equivalent relevant experience.Β

Job PurposeThe Field Technical Manager (FTM) role supports the Powersports dealer network to establish Honda brand value, customer and dealer satisfaction. Maintaining and promoting customer retention and repurchase of Honda Powersports products by providing in-person and TechLine support to Honda dealerships. FTMβs are responsible for prompt reporting of technical issues and resolutions in the market for further follow-up review by the ASX (Aftersales Experience) staff.
Key Accountabilities- Provide in person technical support to protect the customer, dealers, Honda brand Image and reduce lemon law risks
- Resolve product issues working with the Customer Service and Tech Line teams while providing timely reporting of product issue and resolutions back to ASX
- Support Techline function through taking in-bound calls during scheduled shifts
- Administer customer goodwill and manage warranty claim authorization/processing
- Provide manpower as needed for warehouse projects, special investigations and other events or projects when requested
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- High School graduate, Votech, Trade school, and/or OE powersports mechanics technical training.
Minimum Experience:
- 3 years minimum Powersports dealership experience (service operations and/or management) required
- Extensive experience in the repair and servicing of Powersports products
- Customer goodwill expenditure (supporting customer through AHM and Dealer goodwill budget)
- Plan dealer visits using current data gathered from Techline and Customer relations contacts.
- Technical repair troubleshooting & dealer direction via phone and/or in person visits
- Timely reporting of problems and repairs for faster future repairs and to support future development.
This position reports to the Power Sports Aftersales Experience Division located at the American Honda Manufacturing Facility in Timmonsville SC. Requires as much as 75% travel, long distance driving (up to 50,000 mile/year), and overnight hotel stays. Responsible for scheduled Techline duties. This position is based at our South Carolina corporate office. Visiting and working in Honda dealerships of varying volume, status and working conditions; both exclusive Honda and multi-line dealerships. Requires customer relations skills to meet and talk with customers (in person and over the phone). Ability to motivate and coach dealership personnel to improve customer experience. Extensive computer work and cell phone time to stay in communication with AHM staff and dealership staff.

Job PurposeEmergency support - Machining parts for production fixtures and equipment related issues. (Determine as needed fits, finishes and equipment functionality). Welding/fabricate as needed. Cad Cam usage for programming of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) equipment, which includes lathes, mills, plasma, and grinders. Advanced tasks include design of fixtures for New Model using drawing softwares (Computer aided three-dimensional interactive application software). Communicate daily activities for presentation at shift meeting, acquire proper tooling and material to perform machining process, interpret drawings or instructions to machine parts. Assist others in setups and problem solving when asked. Wear proper safety items. Clean-up equipment and work area at the end of your shift.Β
Key Accountabilities- Emergency repair - Maintenance machining in support of equipment breakdowns, safety, and quality issues .Β
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
- Be able to work from verbal instructions and rough sketches.
- Conceive ideas and produce parts to solve production problems.
- Setup and operate manual machining equipment.Β
- Setup, program and operate CNC machining equipment.Β
- Perform routine maintenance on shop equipment.Β
- Inspection of own parts to assure accurate completion to drawings.
- Make spare parts for MRO/Department stockΒ
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- High School Diploma or EquivalentΒ
Minimum Experience
- Technical school/+2 years of Machining and/or Tool & Die is preferredΒ
Other Job-Specific Skills
- Position supports shutdowns and weekend overtime as needed.
- May need to adjust shifts or hours as needed for support.
- Requires machining support. Examples - Emergency Work Orders, overtime, weekends, shutdowns, etc
- Must be willing to work daily overtime/weekends/rotating shifts/and holidays as needed
- Work is prefromed inside of a manufacturing plant
- Must me able to stand on concrete floors for 8 to 10 hours per day
