Duties Responsibilities

As part of the LTAC unit, Long Term Acute Care Nurses (RN) are responsible for caring for patients who require extended medical care.

- Provide care for 5-6 patients.
- Adjust and perform in fast paced environment
- Keep up with many admissions and discharges
- Be able to monitor and administer medications (orally, subcutaneously, and through an IV)
- Educate patients and family on surgical processes and how to manage their illness/injury
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and record and interpret electronic displays
- Interpret and understand telemetry readings, notifying appropriate medical team members of any irregularities
- Perform the duties required of a registered nurse at all times
- Care for patients with pulmonary HTN, respiratory failure, COPD, CHF, and A-Fib
- Use computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information
- Start IV’s, draw blood, see the patient from start to finish

MHS is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this unique and life-changing career, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home. Our Resident Care Companion/STNA responsibilities include:

• Resident Care Companions and STNAs enjoy interacting with residents while engaging in the activities of daily living.

• Assist residents with daily personal care routines such as showers, bathing, personal hygiene, etc.

• Help residents prepare for and escort them to meals, activities, social programs and appointments.

• Assist residents with various other daily needs as necessary.

The experience and/or skills required for this position are:

• STNA certification required for STNA positions.

• No certification required for Resident Care Companion positions.

• Experience working in a similar capacity in a Senior Living setting is helpful,but not required.

• A great outlook, cheerful disposition, and love of seniors are a must.
