Join a team of 6 surgeons and 6 APP's supporting them in clinic with the post-op patient population.
You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the outpatient cardiothoracic surgery clinic. This role involves the comprehensive management of patients undergoing evaluation, treatment, and follow-up for cardiothoracic surgical conditions including coronary artery disease, valvular disease, thoracic aortic disease, and thoracic malignancies. The APP will work collaboratively with cardiothoracic surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in the ambulatory setting. This role will also support the aneurysm clinic and lung nodule clinic.
FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: 8am-5pm (no call, no weekends, no holidays)
Base compensation: $136,961.00 - 183,447.00 plus performance bonus

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $130,461.00 - $176,947.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant?s years of experience align.

The Opportunity
The Physician Assistant will provide advanced primary care to patients in our facility under the mentorship of a Supervising Physician. WAGI is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician?s Assistant (PA-C) to join our gastroenterology medical practice working in our affiliated hospitals.
This role will be at MultiCare?s Good Samaritan and Auburn hospitals. It is a full-time weekend role.
The Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP), as an independent healthcare provider, is responsible for delivering comprehensive treatment to both well and sick patients while working collaboratively within the gastroenterology health team. Via direct patient care, consultation, research, education, and partnership with other healthcare providers, demonstrates a high level of clinical experience in providing gastroenterology healthcare. Patients and families are educated by the APP on how to encourage wellbeing, avoid health complications, improve current health, and engage in acute and chronic illness. APPs are mentored by practice Physicians; PA-Cs practice within the WA State licensing to include practicing medicine with Physician supervision.
Responsibilities
- Provide care autonomously to a case load of inpatients in affiliated hospitals
- Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history, physical assessment, and pre-procedure workups of patients with acute or chronic gastrointestinal health problems
- Prescribe and regulate medications per prescriptive authority in Washington State
- Provides guidance and health education to patients to promote and maintain health within gastroenterology practice
- Order selected diagnostic tests and procedures as indicated by the patient?s condition
- Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
- Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits; maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The following are requirements for Physician Assistant candidates:
- Graduate of a Physician Assistant program approved by the CAHEA
- Current WA State Physician Assistant License required
- DEA prescriptive authority

Washington Gastroenterology has an excellent compensation and benefit package that includes the following:
Employees (and their families) who work full time (defined as working 30 or more hours per week) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and basic life insurance. In addition employees are able to enroll in our company?s 401(k) plan which includes a company provided safe harbor contribution of 3% of annual earnings and the potential for a company discretionary profit sharing contribution.
All employees will be eligible to accrue PTO at a rate of .04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40 hour week) which can be used for and exceeds the required mandatory WA State and other local ordinances. In addition, full time employees will be eligible for a Vacation accrual with a maximum annual accrual of 77 hours as a new hire.
WAGI has 8 standard Holidays each year for which full time employees are eligible to receive paid holiday. In addition, full time employees will be given 1 Float Holiday each year that they can schedule.
WAGI provides Malpractice Insurance, a Continuing Medical Education (CME) reimbursement budget of $5,400 per two year cycle; and 5 days of paid CME Time Off per year to complete CME.
A new hire full time employee in this role will be eligible for a Hiring Bonus in the amount of $10,000.
This is an Salaryposition and the anticipated Compensation range is $125,000 - $170,000. The hired applicant is also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses.

How You'll Make an Impact:
As a member of DispatchHealth?s Transition to Practice Fall 2025 Program Cohort, you?ll work alongside other program fellows across the country to put your skills from your Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant training and advanced degree into practice. You?ll gain experience in an intensive nine-month training and learning program to prepare you to see patients independently and enable you for success. You?ll work side by side in your market and connect with your cohort colleagues across the country. Additionally, you will be trained and mentored by Advanced Practice leaders from around the country. They will provide comprehensive education, training, and feedback on how to care for the acutely ill patient as you participate in transforming healthcare, one patient at a time. Interviews for the next cohort will start end of May 2025 and the program will begin September 15th, 2025.
Compensation: This fellowship program has a training rate of $57.60/hour (non-exempt). After 6 months of successful performance, compensation transitions to a salary of $131,040.00(exempt).
What You'll Do:
For your first portion of the program, you will participate in intensive classroom didactic and skills sessions and receive one-on-one in person training, guided by a seasoned provider while caring for patients in our unique care delivery model(s). Additional programmatic elements include learning documentation best practices, receiving coaching & mentoring, 1:1 feedback, and virtual case study work with your cohort.

- Current BLS required, ACLS certification preferred
- Prescriptive authority and DEA* (*CSR and DEA state specific requirements)
- Two or more years? experience as a paramedic, RN (ED or ICU), Flight Nurse **preferred**
- Valid driver?s license with clean driving record
