Warehouse Operations Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for a Warehouse Operations Manager who will be the operational backbone of this company. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing our warehouse, inventory, facilities, fleet, and cross-departmental coordination. You will work directly alongside the President to implement systems, drive efficiency, and build the operational foundation that supports our growth.
This is not a caretaker role. We need a builder — someone who sees what’s missing, takes ownership of fixing it, and leads the team with clarity and consistency.
Core Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Team Leadership
- Oversee all day-to-day warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory movement
- Lead and direct warehouse staff with clear expectations, accountability, and respect
- Build and enforce processes that ensure accuracy, organization, and safety
- Be a steady, present leader on the floor — not just behind a desk
Inventory Management
- Own inventory strategy across service, installation, and wholesale operations
- Manage purchasing and ordering of all inventory components
- Maintain optimal stock levels, minimize waste, and ensure product availability
- Use data and demand trends to continuously improve stocking decisions
- Coordinate closely with the Service & Installations team to ensure field trucks are properly stocked
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead the transition from manual processes to modern, integrated inventory and operational systems
- Identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions that reduce friction and manual effort
- Ensure new systems are adopted correctly and improved over time
- Partner with the President on operational priorities and long-term process planning
Facilities & Fleet
- Oversee building maintenance and physical infrastructure
- Manage vehicle fleet — maintenance schedules, repairs, and operational readiness
- Determine when to handle work internally vs. when to outsource cost-effectively
Cross-Department Coordination
- Work closely with the Service & Installations Manager to align inventory, scheduling, and field needs
- Act as the connector between warehouse operations and the rest of the company
- Support other departments by making sure operations enable — not hinder — their performance

Skills & Experience
Required
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or a related operational role
- Experience leading a small team and delegating effectively
- Strong organizational and systems-thinking skills
- Analytical mindset with practical problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working closely with ownership in a small business environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds overhead
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
Strongly Preferred
- Experience in the garage door, building materials, construction, or wholesale distribution industry
- Experience transitioning a company from manual or outdated systems to modern platforms
- Background in scaling operations to support business growth
