Your responsibilities will include: 

• Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures 
• Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety 
• Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs

• Completion of CAAHEP Accredited program

• Eligible candidates with less experience will be considered with high level previous experience in surgical cases such as Total Joint (Hip and Knees), Orthopedic Sports Medicine, Ortho and Neuro Spine, Crani, Bowel Resection and GYN open and laparoscopic services.

• Certified OB Surgical Technologist CST PRN
• The Certified Surgical Technologist functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and performs delegated functions. Assumes responsibility to assist the surgeon by preparing and handling instruments, supplies, and equipment to maintain an aseptic environment through specific techniques and practices in the Labor & Delivery unit. He/she adheres to policy and procedures, observes Universal Precautions and is responsible for meeting the Standards of Care. Completes a competency skills checklist within 90 days of employment.
• Graduate from high school or equivalent program.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support.
• Current certification by the Liaison Council of Certification of the Association of Surgical Technologist required.
• Minimum 1-year acute care experience within a Labor and Delivery unit.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required
• Possess a current valid driver's license
• Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is mandatory.
• Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 at referral. Exceptions may apply for those with current or prior service in federal law enforcement positions covered by special retirement provisions. The Secret Service has determined that age is essential to the performance of this position.
• You must obtain a Top Secret Clearance and retain it during your career.
• Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular, possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
• Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500,1000 and 2000Hz ranges.
• Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
• Complete 13 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center(FLETC) in Glynco, GA and 18 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
• Sign a mobility agreement stating your willingness to accept assignments anywhere within the United States and overseas.
• Certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so, if you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959.
