Our Cardiac Cath Lab specializes in the latest methods of evaluating and treating coronary artery disease. Our cardiologists are among the region's most experienced in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath procedures.
Vascular Interventional Radiology treats complex conditions like cancer and heart disease, as well as enlarged prostates and uterine fibroids. Using advanced imaging, our experts can see inside the human body and provide treatment less invasively and with unmatched precision.
The HVIS Prep & Hold is a 36 bed preparation and recovery unit for inpatients and outpatients undergoing procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology, and Vascular Interventional Radiology Labs, as well as elective cardioversions.

Nurse residents are required to pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware (or compact state) prior to starting position. Upon hire, a commitment agreement to work at the ChristianaCare will be signed. The agreement requires completion of a two years with the requirement to remain on the unit of hire for a minimum of 15 months. Individuals unable to fill this commitment will be charged $10,000.

- Performs duties in RIS, HIS, and Intergy computer systems and accurately enter patient data.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Neurodiagnostic Technologist performs prescribed diagnostic procedures requiring specialized knowledge and skills in support of the provision of diagnostic and/or therapeutic services to a specified patient population. Ensures accurate diagnostic results for patients of any age of graphically recorded impulses generated by the brain providing quality outcomes by performing EEG (electroencephalogram) consistent with Christiana Care department policies and procedures.
SHIFT/HOURS:
- Two 12 hour shifts and two 8 hour shifts per week. (4 Day work week)
- 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Scheduled work days will primarily be any days Mon-Fri

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtains relevant medical patient information from patient, family or chart.

- Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as specified in NRC and state licenses. Complies with JCAHO regulations.
- Performs Nuclear Medicine and/or PET/CT procedures and quality control as defined by department protocols.
- Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of all contrast media injectors.
- Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
- Performs IV, IM, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections. Performs accurate dose calculations.
- Completes transmission of optimum quality images to PACS system, able to digitize films, and know how to use a CD burner, if available.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- One year experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities relating to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient care.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities related to nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures, techniques, radiation safety, quality control, and performance improvement practices, stress test monitoring, and EKG’s.
- Knowledge of and ability to abide by departmental standards, procedures, protocols, policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of and ability to use nuclear medicine and PET/CT cameras, computers, and laboratory equipment.
- Ability to abide by local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ability to assess patient needs to determine which type of radiopharmaceutical to use and which procedure to follow, including additional images.
- Ability to utilize fundamental computer techniques on nuclear medicine and PET/CT equipment and Christiana Care Health Services Clinical Care System.
- Ability to prepare, verify, and administer all radiopharmaceuticals in a safe and effective manner.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- ARRT (CT) certification for a PET/CT technologist and obtained within 3 years of hire for a Nuclear Medicine technologist at Christiana Hospital.
- Licensed by State of Delaware Authority on Radiation Protection and/or State of Maryland.
- BLS certification.

As a MRI Technologist:
Performs MRI procedures as defined by departmental protocols
Performs duties in RIS, HIS, and Intergy computer systems and accurately enter patient data.
Completes transmission of optimum quality images to PACS system
Ensures adequate history of patient is obtained and documented
Performs QC and is able to digitize films
Provides superior customer service to patients, family members, and all members of the health care team

ChristianaCare, is looking for a Full-Time Cardiac Sonographer who will utilize our core values of Love & Excellence to provide the highest level of care to our patients.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) procedures at the request of physicians to assist in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. Assist with the clinical training of students and Cardiology Fellows associated with the Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Lab.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs cardiac ultrasound procedures.
- Documents patient’s clinical history and technologist impressions of the images obtained on exam request forms.
- Assists the cardiologist with obtaining images and equipment operation during transesophageal echocardiography.
- Assists in the instruction of cardiac ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows during their practice performance at Christiana Care.
- Rotates on on-call schedule covering off hours and weekend rotation.
- Performs pediatric echocardiography, if experienced.
- Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a graduate of a medical diagnostic ultrasound program or other allied health profession or possess equivalent training.
- New graduates: Registry-eligible and must sit for registry and become RDCS/RCS within first year of employment or within first year of eligibility.
- Pass the registry exam from either the ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS).
- CPR certification.
Schedule:
- 80 hours over two weeks
- Monday-Friday (1130-2000)
- Holiday and Call rotation will be needed, as well as flexibility with weekend rotation coverage. Shift is primarily at Christiana Hospital, occasional coverage at Wilmington Hospital may be asked.
