Patient Support Coordinator I
Location: Torrance, CA (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 13-week contract (potential for extension)
Pay Rate: $22.00–$30.00/hour
Position Overview
The Support Coordinator I is an entry-level role responsible for providing administrative and customer service support within a fast-paced healthcare clinic environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience by coordinating appointments, managing communications, and supporting daily front office functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors at the front desk
- Schedule and coordinate appointments across multiple clinical services
- Manage high-volume inbound and outbound phone communications
- Perform patient registration and maintain accurate records in EMR/EHR systems
- Assist with referrals, message distribution, and care coordination
- Support daily clinic operations and workflow processes
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all patient interactions
Required Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of experience in healthcare, medical office, or customer-facing roles
- Front desk, patient access, or scheduling experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Professional demeanor and presentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in orthopedics or specialty clinic settings
- Knowledge of insurance verification and referral processes
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
- Experience in patient navigation or access center environments
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
