Job Summary and QualificationsThe Cardiovascular Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas/Del Sol Medical Center and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. The Cardiovascular Nurse will supervise and provide feedback to the Director regarding patient care and is a clinical role model. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family, and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates treatment plans. The Cardiovascular Nurse will be cross-trained to assist in the Hybrid OR, EP Lab, Heart Recovery, Non-invasive procedures to include EKG and stress testing. On-Call is required. Core Competencies will be assessed in accordance to the units’ specific patient population served.
What qualifications you will need:REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Advance Cardiac Life support within 6 months of hire
- RN licensure in State of Texas or Compact State
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of Diploma in Nursing required.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a registered nurse

- CCRN or Cardiac Specialty Nursing Certification.

Job Summary and Qualifications
As the PICU Clinical Coordinator you will collaborate with all other healthcare disciplines to achieve successful execution of the patient’s plan-of-care and goals of the department. You will serves as a professional role-model and interfaces directly with patients, families, physicians and staff. You will utilizes physical assessment skills and advanced diagnostic technology to aid in the assessment of the patient’s nursing care needs. - You will develop/approve unit schedules according to staffing guidelines.

- You complete patient and employee incident reports and related paperwork within 24 hours of incident.
- You will coordinate unit functions with other hospital departments.
- You will maintain complete staff/patient assignment records 100% of the time.
- Assign staff according to staff abilities and skills and the patient’s acuity.

What You Will Do

Job Description:
As an Anesthesiologist, you may be required to:
- Provide routine and emergent anesthesia care for neonatal through geriatric patients
- Perform routine preoperative evaluations on patients
- Provide contemporary regional and general anesthesia care.
- Oversee the administration of anesthesia by nurse anesthetists
- Administer anesthesia to patients whose condition poses a particular anesthetic difficulty
- Administer appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks in the treatment of acute and chronic pain
- Oversee the activities of the recovery room and administer appropriate drug and respiratory therapy in the recovery room setting
- Implement the proper use of mechanical ventilators in the recovery room, and as necessary, in the intensive care units
- Provide consultation regarding preoperative preparation, intra and postoperative anesthetic management, and treatment of chronic pain patients
- Perform administrative duties as required, to include completion of all required reports, records, and quality assurance reviews
- Participate in designated Anesthesia Service training activities to include in-services
- Participate in other catastrophic problems where the skill of an anesthesiologist is applicable, e.g., drug overdoses, cardiac arrests, respiratory problems, or trauma admissions
- Participate in Continuing Medical Education and provide a high level of quality assurance
- May be required to participate in teaching and counseling nurse anesthesia staff, nurse anesthesia students, rotating residents, medical students, or other perioperative personnel
Basic Qualifications:
- Active and Unrestricted License to perform Anesthesiology in the United States
- Must be board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited graduate school of medicine
- Active DEA Registration OR CDS
- Active ACLS, BCLS, BLS
- Possess a minimum of one year of experience actively practicing as a full-time Board Eligible or Board-Certified Physician certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology during the last year
