My client, a top NY and NJ law firm, is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join their NY office in a hybrid remote capacity. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients, businesses and legal teams. Associates work closely with lead attorneys daily, engaging in all phases of litigation—from case evaluation to discovery through trial —focusing on strategic thinking to achieve client goals.

Responsibilities

• Handling cases from preparing responsive pleadings to trial
• Drafting extensive written discovery, including preparing and responding to interrogatories, documents requests and request for admissions.
• Proactively managing communications with clients throughout the course of litigation.
• Timely and accurate reporting to our clients, ensuring compliance with their case management requirements.
• Medical record review/summaries,
• Conducting depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts,
• Attend court hearings,
• Prepare motions/oppositions,
• Prepare case status reports to carriers

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required.

• You must be licensed to practice in the State of New York.

• Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written.

• Time management skills and ability to manage and meet deadlines is required.

• Experience handling discovery for complex matters, with substantial knowledge of evidentiary objections in responding to discovery.

• Strong critical thinking, interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise common sense in complex situations while reporting to clients and carriers.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between 140k-210k

Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
