Job Title: Outside Sales Representative

Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with mattress retailers, furniture stores, sleep shops, and other retail partners within the assigned territory.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand distribution and increase market share.
- Conduct in-store product training and demonstrations for retail sales associates to ensure strong product knowledge and effective customer selling.
- Support retail partners with merchandising, product placement, and promotional initiatives to enhance brand visibility and drive sales.
- Monitor retail floor displays to ensure proper product presentation and compliance with company merchandising standards.
- Collaborate with retail partners on sales promotions, marketing initiatives, and inventory planning.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and regional market events to promote the company’s products and identify potential new accounts.
- Train Retail Sales Associate on 3Z Brands product attributes and consumer sales techniques.
- Analyze territory performance and identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts.
- Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure satisfaction and address service or product concerns.
- Prepare and submit sales reports, territory updates, and forecasting information to management.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging sleep technology innovations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience within:
- Mattress or bedding industry
- Furniture or home furnishings
- Consumer durable goods
- Retail wholesale distribution
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing retail accounts or dealer networks strongly preferred.
- Understanding of retail sales environments and merchandising practices.
- Knowledge of mattress products, sleep systems, or home furnishings is highly desirable.
- Ability to analyze sales trends and identify opportunities for growth.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently within an assigned territory.
- This position requires regular travel to retail stores, showrooms, warehouses, and trade events throughout the assigned territory. Travel may include automobile transportation and occasional air travel.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk retail floors during store visits and product demonstrations.
- Occasional lifting and movement of materials or display items up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, or reach when assisting with merchandising or product displays.

Job Description
This position is responsible for understanding and developing assigned territory to maximize and grow revenue and profits by selling DMI’s products and services to existing customers and acquiring new business. This individual works to ensure consistent and profitable growth in sales revenue through effective planning, organization, and management. Geographic area includes SW Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.
Essential Functions
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with existing and prospective customers to promote company products and services.
- Build and maintain solid working relationships with customers by ensuring their needs are met and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Continually meet or exceed sales goals by persuading customers within assigned territory to purchase company products and services.
- Gather information on projects bidding in territory to create sales quotes. Including the use of provided take-off software to estimate required materials and quantities on bidding projects.
- Read and understand specifications for materials on bidding projects to ensure the quoted information will meet the specified conditions.
- Present educational courses to architects for Continuing Education credits as well as potential customers.
- Provide technical data, product information, and application for all company products.
- Attend and host trade shows to promote company products and services.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
- Professional communication with all departments within the company.
- Effectively work from home office.
- Safely move about working construction sites including ladders, scaffolding, and roofs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition, candidate will be required to work some additional hours as needed.
Travel
This position requires extensive travel with driving throughout the territory including overnight stays.
