- Locum Tenens Opportunity Near Altoona, PA We are seeking an experienced Neurology Physician for a locum tenens position near Altoona, PA.

This assignment is available ASAP and will continue on an ongoing basis.

Position Overview: Start Date: ASAP
- Ongoing Location: Near Altoona, PA Specialty: Neurology Provider Type: Physician Coverage Type: Call Only Practice Setting: Inpatient Holidays Allowed: 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Christmas Day, Labor Day EMR System: Epic Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Responsibilities: Coverage Dates: The assignment includes call coverage with shifts from 7 AM to 7 AM on the following dates: October 14-28 November 11-18 December 2-9 Patient Care: Manage a variety of neurology cases including general neurology, concussion, epilepsy, stroke, and multiple sclerosis.

Perform EMGs and EEGs as needed.

Daily Patient Load: Expect to see 10-15 patients daily with 6-10 new consults.

Follow-up on previous consults is required.

Inpatient Responsibilities: Provide consulting services without admitting patients.

Key duties include: Placing necessary orders for patient care through electronic medical records.

Handling telestroke cases (3-4 per month).

Responding to stroke alerts and administering TPA.

Collaborating with the Emergency Department.

Reading inpatient EEGs and performing EMGs.

Requirements: Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Licensing: Active Pennsylvania license is required.

Permanent PA DEA is also necessary (address changes are not accepted).

Experience: Completion of a neurology residency and experience in performing EMGs and EEGs.

Additional Information: Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated at 14 days, ensuring a thorough and efficient credentialing process.

Practice Setting: This role is focused on inpatient neurology with no admission responsibilities.
