The Department of Radiology, Section of Pediatric Radiology at the University of Chicago is seeking full-time faculty at any rank. Appointees should have experience with all aspects of Pediatric Radiology (conventional radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and MRI). Remote clinical days are available weekly, and scheduling is thoughtfully designed to support personal well-being alongside clinical and academic success. Appointees will participate in interdisciplinary conferences and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and engage in scholarly activity. Summary:

Position Summary
The Traveling HVAC Startup Controls Foreman is responsible for the supervision, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new and existing mechanical systems in commercial and industrial buildings. This role ensures that all HVAC and control systems are installed, tested, and functioning according to project specifications, building codes, and client expectations. The Foreman provides leadership in the field, supports apprentices and technicians, and collaborates with project managers and engineers to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project delivery. This is a 100% travel job.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Commission and start up commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, including refrigeration systems, air handling units, temperature controls, and heat pumps.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair existing HVAC and control systems to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
- Install and pressure test refrigeration piping systems and verify connections meet specifications.
- Ensure all startup and commissioning documentation, including service work orders and forms, are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Coordinate work activities with other trades and departments to avoid conflicts and maintain project schedules.

The role currently has no direct reports and leverages internal and external support resources to support QMS activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as FDA Management Representative with final quality decision authority and responsibility for regulatory compliance and QMS effectiveness
- Own, maintain, and continuously improve the ISO 13485 and ISO 9001-certified QMS, including leading audits, CAPAs, and management reviews
- Establish and oversee part and product inspections and release activities, including direct execution as needed and final review/approval of delegated acceptance decisions
- Oversee supplier qualification, monitoring, and compliance with regulatory and quality requirements, and serve as the U.S. Agent for designated foreign suppliers
- Direct and coordinate internal resources, in collaboration with functional leaders, to meet quality and regulatory objectives
- Analyze quality data, trends, and risk using appropriate statistical methods
- Drive quality culture and cross-functional engagement by promoting a customer- and patient-oriented culture (weighEasierยฎ) and communicating quality objectives and risks across the organization
- Travel up to 5%
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree required. Engineering, Science, or a related technical field preferred. Additional relevant education is a plus.
- 6+ years of quality/regulatory experience in a regulated environment, including 4+ years in medical devices within a certified quality system (e.g., ISO 13485)
- Demonstrated experience owning quality and/or regulatory processes and final decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of technical, quality, or regulatory experience in medical devices
- Prior experience serving as FDA Management Representative
- Experience managing team or external vendors with demonstrated independent decision authority
- Strong statistical analysis background โ ASQ, RAPS, Lean, or similar certifications preferred
- Experience with similar technologies to existing product families
