A leading global company is seeking a Legal Assistant to support its Litigation and Regulatory team on a contract basis. This role will focus on intake coordination, document management, and operational support across high-volume legal workflows.

Role Details

Title: Legal Assistant (Litigation & Regulatory) – Contract

Location: Hybrid (San Francisco, CA – 3 days/week onsite)

Duration: ~8 months

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Rate: $50/hour - $60/hour

What You'll Do

• Manage intake of legal requests across email, physical mail, and third-party services (e.g., CT Corporation)
• Review and triage legal documents, ensuring timely routing to appropriate stakeholders
• Create and maintain matters within internal systems, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting
• Support audits of matter management systems in collaboration with litigation and regulatory teams
• Categorize and input data into intake and tracking tools with a high level of accuracy
• Maintain organized repositories of legal documents for internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., outside counsel, finance)
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure smooth handling of legal workflows and documentation

Qualifications

• Experience in a Legal Assistant, Project Assistant, or similar role
• Experience supporting litigation, regulatory, or legal operations teams preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Experience with Tonkean or similar workflow tools is a strong plus

The Position:

We are seeking a full-time Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our talented legal team in San Francisco, CA. (Remote position, however, must live within driving distance to the local office as occasional onsite work may be required.) Experience in the areas of Construction Defect Litigation (developer representation) and General Casualty/PI preferred, or recent civil litigation experience. Key Responsibilities:

• Records management: indexing records received; following up on missing records; reviewing records for additional sources; initiate processes to obtain records from those additional sources.
• Public Records Requests for both CD and PI cases
• Preparation of authorizations and subpoenas and follow up on responses thereto
• Preparation of draft discovery responses through review of file materials and client follow-up, including signed verifications
• Compiling and preparing records for production
• Facilitate expert retention and liaison with expert throughout life of case
• Professionally communicate with clients, witnesses, experts and counsel
• Adherence to billing minimums and differing requirements of the carriers
• Offer trial support, including creating demonstrative aids.
• Meet and maintain annual firm billable requirements monthly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of Civil Litigation Paralegal experience

The anticipated compensation for this role falls between $60,000 and $85,000 annually. While we expect to offer a salary within this range, the final figure will be determined based on several factors, including the selected candidate's expertise and background.

Prescriptive authority is required.

Conducts comprehensive clinical reviews of adverse determinations related to medical necessity.

Provides support for claim appeals in relation to medical necessity.

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing is required.

BSN preferred.

Minimum 2 years acute care experience or managed care experience is required.

Basic knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare preferred.

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice professional nursing issued by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas is required.

Acts as a therapeutic agent as a member of multi-disciplinary health and mental health teams.

Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is required.

One year's post master's degree experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Current state licensure from the Texas Department of Human Services is required.

Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Ambulatory setting in accordance with UH policies and standards.

Supports and promotes University Health values to ensure patient/guest relations.

Performs the nursing process in a safe therapeutic manner in a designated clinic setting.

At least one year experience in direct patient care is preferred.
