Summary:

Performs patient assessments and institutes respiratory care plans. Performs various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the hospital.
Responsibilities:

Airway management including nasotracheal & endotracheal suctioning;
Delivery of aerosolized drugs;

Oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring;
Chest film analysis;
Bloodgas collection and analysis;

Position Overview:

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in the Cardiovascular department at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Shoreline. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the CV ICU and acute Inpatient CV Units.
  • Act as a first assist in CV Surgery cases in the Operating Room. Vein harvesting experience preferred.
  • Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices to give patient care directions to nursing and other staff.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of direct patient care and consult with specialists as necessary.
  • Adjust nursing care processes to optimize patient outcomes and provide the highest standard of care.
  • Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services as ordered for patients.
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy of patient medical records.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced Nursing Degree or Master's Degree required.
  • Current Texas State Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license or PA license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR), American Heart Association.

  • Experience in both clinical and management areas.
