We're looking for Telemetry RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Hickory, NC. The right RN should have 1-2 years' recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements.
As a TELE Travel Nurse, you will provide care by connecting patients to machines that measure heart rate, blood pressure, breathing rate, as well as blood-oxygen levels and electrocardiogram information. These machines then send data to computer screens for RNs to monitor. Telemetry RNs read and interpret the data to better determine patient care.
As a TELE Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
- Provide basic bedside care.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
- Identify irregular telemetry readings and notify appropriate medical team members.
- Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
TELE Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. RNs must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Requirements*: ACLS, BLS, 2 Years

Job Responsibilities:
This position will plan, implement, and coordinate safety programs, requiring application of some engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions.
- Become familiar with production processes at all local facilities.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
- Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical and work hazards.
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures and administer worker’s compensation program accordingly.
- Report or review findings from accident investigations and facilities inspections.
- Train employers and employees to obtain information about work environments and workplace incidents. Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
- Review employee safety programs to determine their adequacy.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing safety.

- Keep accurate records for OSHA compliance.
- Manage worker's compensation claims, OSHA 300, OSHA 300A, and OSHA 301 forms.
Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupation Health and Safety preferred, or equivalent work experience Business, Chemical, Engineering or Manufacturing/Industrial field required
- 2-3 years’ experience in safety or an equivalent combination sufficient to perform essential functions of this position.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Willingness to work as a team member in a “hands-on" production environment
