Salary - $100,000 - $170,000


Overview

A well‑established industrial services provider is seeking a Coating/Painting Division Manager to lead and grow its coatings operations. This leader will be responsible for building the division—bringing business, developing talent, overseeing projects, and working across multiple trades in a fast‑paced industrial environment.


Role Summary

This role is ideal for a leader who can both drive business development and manage operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include servicing existing facility projects, developing new customer relationships, estimating work, scheduling crews, leading and training teams, and ensuring proper documentation.


The role also involves preparing and training teams on coating and surface preparation standards, as well as understanding and supporting application techniques. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, leadership capability, and the ability to collaborate with other internal divisions such as insulation, PTM, and system scaffolding.


Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the coatings/painting division, including business growth and team development
  • Manage, service, and expand relationships with existing customers
  • Develop new business opportunities and maintain a strong pipeline of projects
  • Perform take-offs, walk-through estimating, and prepare bids
  • Forecast manpower needs and manage daily/weekly scheduling
  • Oversee project managers, foremen, and coatings crews
  • Train teams on surface prep standards and proper painting/coating techniques
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multi-trade divisions (insulation, PTM, scaffolding, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and protocols
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting


Qualifications

  • Industrial coatings/painting experience including take-offs, walk work estimating, and field execution
  • Existing industry relationships, with the ability to bring or develop a book of business
  • Strong knowledge of industrial painting techniques, equipment, and surface preparation
  • Experience forecasting manpower and scheduling crews
  • NACE/AMPP CIP Level 1 or Level 2 preferred (not required)
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to recruit project managers, foremen, and crews
  • Strong communication and teamwork capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi‑trade industrial environment
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols
