Responsibilities
  • Provide trusted and practical legal support to sales, account opening and service escalation teams for deposit and cash management services including for core deposit products (checking, savings, CDs) offered to small businesses.
  • Collaborate with risk, compliance and control partners to ensure appropriate awareness, escalation and resolution of issues including around mitigation of fraud and continued implementation of best practices.
  • Review and comment on client agreements, procedures, internal communications and training.
  • Handle complex servicing and account escalations from central business and operational teams including reviewing communications in response to client inquiries.
  • Participate on project teams and other initiatives led by the business or the Legal Department.
  • Monitor and provide trusted advice on applicable laws, regulations, risks and industry concerns related to deposit and liquidity products.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • US-qualified attorney with a minimum of 5 years of legal practice in a relevant government or regulatory agency, financial institution or law firm.
  • A team player who prioritizes collegiality and acts collaboratively.
  • Good presentation and advocacy skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and projects simultaneously.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Prior knowledge of legal and regulatory landscape related to core bank products such as UCC Articles 3 & 4/4A, payment methods/processing or consumer financial protections.

**Job Description
****Position Overview
** As an Assistant General Counsel – Transmission, you will support a wide variety of commercial transactions in Invenergy’s transmission business.

You will provide professional legal advice, counsel, and guidance to support the development, construction, financing and operation of Invenergy’s growing transmission business and energy generation portfolio.
**Responsibilities
*** Provide legal support on a variety of commercial transactions from development through construction and operation of Invenergy’s transmission and energy generation projects, including debt and equity financings, joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, interconnection agreements, procurement and construction agreements, and operation and maintenance agreements.
* Provide guidance on transaction structuring.
* Select and manage sophisticated outside counsel.
* Ensure consistency across transactions and compliance with internal policies.
* Review general commercial contracts and assist with other general legal matters and transactions as they arise.
**Minimum Qualifications
*** JD degree from an accredited top law school with a strong academic record and active license to practice law.
* 5-8+ years of experience at a law firm or as in-house counsel supporting utility scale energy projects preferred, but candidates with general M&A, project finance, or construction and procurement legal experience will also be considered.
* Experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on sophisticated energy related project development, construction, finance, offtake and M&A agreements sought.
* Experience researching and analyzing applicable laws and regulations across a variety of jurisdictions; conducting due diligence reviews; and managing transaction closings.
* Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
**Preferred Qualifications
*** Prior experience with energy generation and transmission projects is preferred.
* Able to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders under minimal supervision.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to relay complex concepts to members of management in a clear and concise manner.
* Smart self-starter who is proactive, can demonstrate initiative, can work independently as well as on a team, and who has a β€œroll-up-the-sleeves” mentality.
* Strong organizational and analytical skills as well as the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Sound judgment, critical thinking, attention to detail, strong business understanding and solid negotiation skills.
* The ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and balance a heavy workload.
**Base Pay
**175,000.00
- 210,000.00 USD AnnualBonus: 25%
- 40%The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position.
