Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday 7:00am-7:30pm

As an MRI Technologist, you will perform a full range of MR (Magnetic Resonance) exams in accordance with established protocols. Adheres to the strict guidance of MR Safety policies and procedures. Primary Duties:

- Performs full range of MR imaging procedures promptly on all patient types as specified by the protocol. The ability to perform venipuncture, injection of contrast media, and non-narcotic medication is required for effective diagnostic imaging and scanning. Must adhere to the direction, policy, and procedures as defined by physician modality director.

- Strict adherence to research guidelines for studies performed on patients participating in research studies. Adheres to the policies and procedures that apply to the performance of obtaining MR studies and MR guided procedures, including performing correct, exam, including laterality, on the correct patient at the time requested.

- Provides basic information to patients and/or families about procedures to be performed and can answer questions if asked. Assists with the upkeep of MR and related equipment, adhering to all related safety requirements and reports needed for equipment repairs. Can execute and enforce MR Safety standards and practices.

- Monitors equipment, analyses potential reasons for system malfunction, contacts the Biomedical engineering department and reports malfunction to log a ticket. Ensures timely completion of all exams through tracking, scanning, and other technical workflow as related to Radiology Information System (RIS, Enterprise Radiology Solutions (ERS) and EMR (Electronic Medical Record).

- Coordinates and collaborates with Technical Aides to ensure efficient room turnover. Coordinates, communicates, and collaborates with Patient Financial Associates that register radiology exams to minimize delays and potential safety issues for the outpatient population.

Qualifications:

- Vocational/Technical Diploma from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology; competency in didactic coursework and an ARRT-specified list of clinical procedures by completing competency requirements established for the discipline in which they are seeking certification and registration.

- ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology); with advanced certification in MR.

- BLS (Basic Life Support).

- 1-2 years’ experience in a hospital setting preferred.

- Operates and documents all aspects of Ultrasound. Verify procedure for appropriateness and preparation has been performed. Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist radiologist with imaging procedures starting IV's and injecting contrast if applicable.
- Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures.
- Evaluate CT scans for technical quality collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label. Film transmits to PACS.
- Charge procedures and supplies correctly.
- Assists in the administration and administers various chemical substances to render specific organs or systems more opaque. Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
- Reviews patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained.
- Quality controls all images maintains inventory and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel including students.
- Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Assist with providing orientation and training to new CT technologists.
- Manage scheduling and patient flow on multiple interventional CT scanners.
- Assist with research and development with CT equipment manufacturer to develop new CT software and new technologies when asked.
- Participate in research initiatives and development of research protocols.
- Monitor charging of CT procedures and supplies daily to ensure correctness.
- Participates in inter or intra departmental performance improvement.
- Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for the exam requested.
- Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts.
- Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety department safety and specific job-related hazards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimal Qualifications
Education

- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current Maryland State License required

Licenses and Certifications

- ARRT required
- Certified Cat Scan Technologist required
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
- Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
