Overview:

Under the supervision of the surgeon, the CST-FA performs first assistant duties during the surgical procedure. Overview:

Performs the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room. Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team. Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality. Mercy Center for Performance Medicine out-patient surgery offers state of the art care to patients in need of surgical care. The center consists of 10 operating rooms, 2 minor procedure rooms and 1 cysto suite, making it one of the largest surgery centers in the United States. Equipped with the latest and greatest technology.

Surgery specialties include orthopedics, urology, plastics, neuro and general surgery. 

Along with the operating room, the surgery center includes its own pre/post area, PACU, 23-hour stay area, SPD and supply chain.
