About the Division:
PHM Division was established in 2003-2004 with 2 physicians staffing 2 general pediatric resident teams. Currently grown to 20+ physicians who staff all the General Pediatric inpatient Floor Teams, the
Observation unit at Childrens Hospital of Michigan, and the Newborn team at Hutzel Hospital. We have Nurse Practitioners who work alongside the Attending, in the Observation Unit. Our 2-year Pediatric
Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program is up and running with 3 current 1st year Fellows.

About the Division:
The Division of Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology at Childrens Hospital of Michigan currently has 8 faculty members and 2 fellows. One faculty member is certified by the Board of Pediatrics with additional certification in Pediatric Rheumatology. The rest of the faculty members have certification in Pediatric Allergy & Immunology.
The Division has a major role in teaching residents and fellows and conducting multicenter collaborative clinical research. The Division is supported by on-site social workers, medical office assistants, RNs specialized in Rheumatology, Immunology, and Allergy, and an NP that has specialization in Pediatric Rheumatology.
The Pediatric Rheumatology clinic and multidisciplinary vasculitis clinic with Pediatric Nephrologists is located at the Childrens Hospital of Michigans Pediatric Specialty Center. There are three other off-site clinics around the Detroit metropolitan area that provide Pediatric Rheumatology outpatient services.

Childrens Hospital of Michigan is the leader in treating the most children and adults with congenital heart disease (CHD) for cardiovascular care in the Metropolitan Detroit area. We have a large volume of adult patients with CHD (ACHD) supported with certified cardiologists in ACHD, two cardiac surgeons who perform surgery, interventional and EP cardiologists who perform procedures in these patients. We are in the process of certification for the center of excellence for the ACHD at Childrens Hospital of Michigan. With an extensive team of attendings and a dedicated nursing staff, the Pediatric Cardiologists and Pediatric Cardiovascular surgeons at Childrens Hospital of Michigan provides a full range of advanced cardiac services for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents with congenital or acquired heart disease, and for adults with congenital heart disease.
The Cardiology and Heart Surgery programs at Childrens Hospital of Michigan are ranked among the U.S. News & World Reports 2021-2022 Best Childrens Hospitals. Our program is also designated as one of two UNOS certified cardiac transplant centers in the state of Michigan.
We are actively seeking an additional cardiologist with training/experience to join our robust program to participate in the care of the burgeoning ACHD patients. .

The Medical Director of Acute Care – Hospital at Home (HaH)
and Advanced Home health provides clinical leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for the organization’s Acute care at home program. This role ensures high-quality, safe, patient-centered acute care delivered in the home setting while advancing program growth, standardization, and clinical excellence.
The Medical Director partners closely with operations, nursing leadership, care management, quality, technology, and external providers to design and continuously improve care models that reduce avoidable hospitalizations, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the patient experience while maintaining regulatory compliance and financial stewardship.
This is a physician leadership role requiring an MD or DO with demonstrated experience in acute care, hospital medicine, post acute care, family medicine, or a related specialty, along with prior leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Program Oversight
Serve as the physician lead for the Hospital at Home and Acute Care at Home program.
Establish and maintain clinical protocols, care pathways, and admission criteria for acute home-based care.
Provide medical oversight for care delivered by the interdisciplinary acute care at home team, including advanced practice providers, nurses, and paramedics.
Ensure alignment with evidence-based practices and national standards for Hospital at Home care.
Oversee clinical decision-making processes related to admission, escalation of care, and safe discharge.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Partner with Quality and Patient Safety teams to monitor clinical outcomes, safety metrics, and patient experience.
Lead morbidity and mortality reviews related to acute care at home patients as needed.
Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, state regulations, and payer requirements.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including:
Avoided
ED admissions and referrals
Readmission rates
Length of stay
Escalation to inpatient care
Patient satisfaction
Cost of care
Operational & Strategic Leadership
Collaborate with operational leaders to scale the program across the health system.
Support workforce planning, including physician and APP staffing models.
Participate in budgeting, resource allocation, and financial performance oversight.
Serve as a physician champion for innovation in home-based acute care.
Engage with external stakeholders including payers, vendors, and community partners.
Education & Collaboration
Provide clinical education and mentorship to HaH and AHH clinicians and staff.
Partner with hospitalists, emergency medicine physicians, primary care, and specialty teams to ensure smooth transitions of care.
Participate in system-wide clinical councils and governance structures as appropriate.
Represent the Hospital at Home and Acute care at home program in internal and external forums.
Required Qualifications:
MD or DO required
Board certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Hospital Medicine
Active, unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of practice
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in acute care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine

The thoracic surgeon will manage a full-scope adult thoracic practice, including but not limited to:

Thoracic trauma and emergent procedures
Minimally invasive and robotic-assisted thoracic procedures

Qualifications You qualify for the GL-5 grade level if you possess one of the following: Experience: One (1) year of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations; to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through classroom training and/or on-the-job instruction; and the ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records; OR Education Substitution: A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of general work experience AND successfully completed college education.

Talkiatry is a clinician-led, virtual psychiatry practice built to combine the stability of a hospital practice with the clinical autonomy of private practice.
This role is designed for psychiatrists who want:
- Predictable, W-2 compensation and benefits
- Flexible scheduling, control over their schedule, session structure, and patient population
- Minimal administrative burden in a fully remote, outpatient model
- 100% remote, outpatient psychiatry
- Lower to moderate acuity populations (ex. anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, OCD, PTSD)
- Patient population across the lifespan: children & adolescents (treated by board-certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists only), adults, and geriatric patients
- Standard session lengths (60-minute intakes, 30-minute follow ups)
- No inpatient, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization care or crisis coverage
- In-house referral network to therapists
- Full operational support including scheduling, billing, intake coordination, and licensing
- Control over schedule and weekly availability
- Session length within established clinical standards
- Patient population, balanced to individual criteria and preferences
- Clinical decision-making without pressure to shorten visits or increase volume
