Associate Attorney (Litigation) — 2+ Years Post-Clerkship

Minneapolis, MN • Start Date: January 2026

Coleman & Erickson, LLC is a boutique litigation firm where associates don't sit on the sidelines. If you've completed a judicial clerkship and have at least two years of practice, you'll step into real cases, real clients, and real courtrooms—fast—backed by mentors who want you to grow.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Immediate responsibility: Appear in court, interface with clients, and own pieces of active matters from day one.
  • Hands-on mentoring: Work closely with seasoned litigators who invest in your development.
  • A collaborative team: High standards, low ego, and tight feedback loops.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support motion practice, hearings, and case strategy meetings.
  • Research and draft pleadings, briefs, and dispositive motions.
  • Manage discovery (draft/respond to requests, review documents, prepare mediation briefs).
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff with professionalism and judgment.
  • Contribute to a case roadmap alongside senior attorneys—and take ownership of your work product.

What We're Looking For

  • Judicial clerkship (required).
  • 2+ years of legal experience post-clerkship.
  • A genuine passion for litigation and trial work.
  • Excellent research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • Ready to start immediately.

What We Offer

Comprehensive health insurance

  • HSA with firm match
  • 401(k) with firm match
  • Generous PTO + paid holidays
  • A supportive, boutique environment with meaningful work and client/courtroom exposure from day one

At Coleman & Erickson, you won't just draft behind the scenes—you'll build a real litigation toolkit quickly, with mentorship and opportunities to lead.
