Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Director/Supervisor or designee, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician. Practice Setting

  • Our five-year-old office is located on the Shawnee Mission hospital campus with convenient access to I-35. Our building houses 30 primary care providers, and 21 specialists including 7 neurologists and 4 other neurosurgeons.
  • Clinic staffing includes a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA), Registered Nurse (RN), and APP to support your practice and ensure efficient patient care.
  • The AdventHealth Shawnee Mission hospital is supported by four Neurosurgeons and six specialized Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), ensuring ample collaborative opportunities and a well-rounded team environment.
  • Inpatient Neuro-Hospitalist coverage is available onsite 24/7, providing continuous care and expertise for our patients.

Schedule:

  • Allocated block time for surgical procedures and clinic hours, allowing for a balanced and structured workflow.
  • Call expectations are 1 in 2 for Endovascular Stroke Intervention and 1 in 4 for Neurosurgery, with additional compensation for extra call duties.
  • Thirty days of annual leave are provided, in addition to six recognized holidays, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Neurosurgery.
  • Completed fellowship training in Endovascular Neurosurgery
  • Eligible for Kansas medical licensure.

  • 1 in 2 call rotation shared with our other hospitalist (2 other neurologists in the group are available to take call from time to time if needed)

  • 24hr call (inpatient and cover outpatient clinic call at night)

  • Friday 7am – Friday 7am
