Review and interpret a variety of surgical and cytology cases (average 40 per day), collaborating with physicians to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Provide critical expertise in hematology, including reviewing out-of-the-norm peripheral blood smears and resolving difficult antibodies in the blood bank.

Attend and provide immediate adequacy statements for fine needle aspirations.

Supervise other healthcare providers as needed within the pathology department.

Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the CoPath electronic documentation system.

Participate in weekend/night call coverage on a 1:2 call ratio.

Qualifications: Active and unrestricted Iowa (IA) medical license or eligible for temporary licensure.

Board certification in both Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABP) is mandatory.

Additional board certification by the American Society of Cytopathology (ASCP) is preferred but not required.

Minimum of five years of experience in a hospital-based pathology setting is preferred.

Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in pathology.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with physicians, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality patient care through accurate and timely diagnoses.

Additional Considerations: This opportunity offers a flexible work schedule with one week per month devoted to weekday shifts (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am
