What You’ll DoPrepare patients for ultrasound procedures and ensure comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout the exam.
Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound scans using established protocols while optimizing technical factors for accuracy and patient safety.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Modify care appropriately based on patient age, condition, and abilities.
Receive, interpret, document, and verify electronic, written, and verbal orders.
Evaluate images for quality, proper labeling, and accurate patient identification.
Ensure timely transfer of images and relevant clinical information to interpreting providers.
Identify, prepare, and administer contrast media or medications as prescribed; perform venipuncture when required.
Utilize EMR, RIS, and PACS systems efficiently and accurately.
Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiography or Sonography Program; or a CAAHEP-accredited Sonography Program — Required
