We are hiring a Professional Nursing Instructor for the LPN and RN programs at Fort Myers Technical College. This position is a mix of classroom and clinical learning atmospheres.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Florida RN license.
- Master of Science in Nursing with three years of nursing experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Microsoft Office proficiency
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan individually or cooperatively a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, diverse backgrounds, and abilities of students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
- Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Use appropriate technology in teaching and the learning process.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records and reports as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
- Adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida and meet all school and District policy requirements.
- Establish an appropriate testing environment and test security.

Political Affairs Internship:
The role focuses on making poverty a focus of U.S., Canadian and U.K. foreign policy. This is a part-time 12-hours per week, 12 week, unpaid remote internship. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks.

Responsibilities will include:
Leading public and political outreach in your state and district.
Meeting with members of Congress/Government in your State/District/Constituency.
Representing The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events.
Assisting with fundraising. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
Mobilizing individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation.
Speaking to groups, classes and organizations.
Writing letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media and other groups.

No prior experience is necessary, we're looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of your GPAs/background.
Details:
This is an unpaid internship, although college credit is available. The position can be worked remotely from any of the following countries: U.S., U.K., Canada, France or Australia.

RequirementsEducation:Associate Degree in Health Information Management required. Applicable experience may be substituted for degree.
Experience:Minimum of 3 years of professional coding experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role preferred. Extensive knowledge and application of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, outpatient coding, E/M guidelines, and documentation standards required
Certification:CPC (Certified Professional Coder) required. CPMA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor) required.
Other:Coding software and Epic experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred. Prior experience in presenting to various audiences; strong public speaking skills preferred. Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
