Physician Assistant Opening! Pittsfield, MA. Berkshire Health SystemsAs a Physician Assistant in the Hospitalist Department at Berkshire Health System in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, your primary responsibility would be to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the hospitalist physician. This will include the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions of adult patients admitted to the hospital.

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, obtaining patient histories, and performing physical examinations.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostical tests such as laboratory tests, EKGs, imaging procedures, and other necessary tests.
• Developing, implementing, and adjusting individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the attending physician.
• Prescribing and administering medications, including intravenous therapies and blood products, as appropriate, and monitoring patient response to therapy.
• Participating in daily rounds with the hospitalist physician, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
• Documenting and maintaining accurate and complete medical records, including progress notes, patient data, and treatment plans as per hospital policy.
