Summary:

The Telemetry Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in a telemetry unit, focusing on continuous cardiac monitoring and assessment. This role encompasses evaluating patient health, implementing specialized care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with cardiac conditions. The position requires strong clinical skills in telemetry nursing, critical thinking abilities, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics.

Essential Work Functions:
  • Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during cardiac-related procedures and examinations
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
  • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's cardiac status and response to interventions
  • Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies
  • Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
  • Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
  • Maintains confidentiality of patients and client
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
  • Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Typical duties may include: Monitoring behavior patterns and activities of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels believed to be engaged in illegal activities.

Interpreting radar data to calculate appropriate intercept while tracking vessels and people to a successful interdiction.

Searching persons, vessels, baggage, and cargo for contraband or weapons incidental to detention or arrest.

Collecting, refining, and analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence.

Qualifications This GS-11 grade level position has a selective factor: As a minimum qualification requirement all candidates must have a qualifying Merchant Mariner Credential.

Conducting investigative inquiries using various techniques, examining files and records, physical and documentary evidence to identify logical conclusions.

Utilizing cameras and other electronic high-tech surveillance equipment to gather evidence, collect, evaluate, and then preserve that physical and documentary evidence.

Highly skilled in writing comprehensive arrest, criminal and incident reports.

Assisting government or state attorneys in preparation for court cases or grand juries, testifies as a law enforcement officer in court proceedings, and administrative forums.

Considerable experience applying arrest authorities and constitutional law in various alleged criminal situations, or knowledge and experience of CBP laws, regulations, policies, legal precedent.

OR GS-11 Education Substitution for experience: A Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree, three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M.

CRNA Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certification: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), board certified
  • Licensure: Active Virginia CRNA/APRN license
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of CRNA experience required; at least 1 year in an Academic Medical Center or Level I trauma setting required; experience with higher-acuity (ASA 3+) patients preferred
  • Certifications: Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS (must be valid)
  • References: Provide 2 professional references (or contact information) at submission

Key Responsibilities (Anesthesia Provider)

  • Provide safe, evidence-based anesthesia care across the full CRNA scope of practice in inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, develop anesthesia plans, and manage intraoperative anesthesia and hemodynamics
  • Support coverage across multiple anesthetizing locations including main OR, outpatient surgery, and endoscopy/GI
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative teams to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care
  • Deliver clear post-anesthesia handoffs and support PACU/ICU transitions as needed
  • Document care accurately and efficiently in Epic EMR
  • Case Exclusions: No open heart/thoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, or peripheral nerve blocks

Responsibilities:

The KEYS Academy Director supervises the development and operations of programs and services for a specific KEYS Academy school site. The KEYS Academy Director performs liaison functions with referring agencies and is responsible for personnel, financial, and program management functions as well as daily operations. The KEYS Academy Director ensures all VDOE Licensure, LEA, and VAISEF accreditation regulations and standards are met in his/her area of operations. The KEYS Academy Director performs all duties in a manner that supports a sense of well-being, availability for learning and safety, dignity and opportunity for all.

 

Operations :

  • Responsible for the administrative direction of the facility.
  • Directs and oversees day to day school operations
  • Complies with State Laws / Regulations and KEYS Academy policies and procedures.

Coordination / Documentation of Student-Related Services :

  • Maintains safe environment for students conducive to learning
  • Coordinates program components and services
  • Coordinates related services and contracted services
  • Reviews and approves referrals for admission to services

  • Coordinates all student placement transitions including temporary placements and / or dismissals
