This role combines operational execution with high-level financial advisory responsibilities, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and financial transparency across all departments and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Finance Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP/GAAS and relevant regulations Develop and implement financial analysis tools to support strategic decision-making Collaborate with compliance leaders to support grant reporting and regulatory adherence Financial Management & Reporting Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and dashboards Lead financial reviews with leadership to ensure budget alignment Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives Oversee payroll, benefits reporting, and compliance in coordination with HR Manage cash flow, investments, fund accounting, and banking relationships Streamline financial systems and processes, including automation and AI tools Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls External Reporting & Compliance Manage annual audits and required financial filings (e.g., Form 990) Oversee invoicing, billing, collections, and external financial disclosures Continuous Improvement Drive process improvements for greater efficiency and scalability Maintain accurate and flexible general ledger and reporting structures Build collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners Required Qualifications Resides in or willing to relocate to the Greater Cleveland area Comfortable with hybrid work (3 days in office weekly) Bachelor's degree required; CPA or MBA preferred 10+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership; nonprofit experience preferred Proven team leadership and management skills Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities Familiarity with Sage Intacct is a plus Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across functions Knowledge, Skills & Abilities High level of integrity and discretion with sensitive information Ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights Strong operational and strategic financial expertise Collaborative and empathetic leadership style Advanced Excel skills; proficient with accounting systems and databases Interested in hearing more?
