Overview:
The Nurse Tech role is designed for current nursing students who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing. As a Nurse Tech, you will have the opportunity to work closely with Mercy nurses to gain real life experience on a hospital unit while still in nursing school!
Job Duties:
- Obtain vital signs and document into the electronic medical records system
- Assist with patient care needs including, meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, patient mobility, and transport.
- Phlebotomy/blood cultures
- Enteral Feeding
- Wound care
- IV/Foley removal
- Trach care/suctioning
- Culture collection
- Ostomy application and care
- Wound vacs
- NG tube management and removal
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. and enrolled in a board-certified nursing
program.
Prior to employment, the Nurse Tech shall provide student transcripts indicating
they have completed Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
and provide competency skills list from their learning institution.
The Nurse Tech must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while in
this role. This program is for nursing students only, if a student leaves a program for
any reason, they can no longer be a nurse tech.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within one month of hire.

Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician III assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician III follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
Experience: 3 years hospital pharmacy experience or equivalent experience required.
Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work.
