Underwriting Program Manager – Stop Loss (Fully Remote or Hybrid – Hartford, CT Area)

A growing insurance organization based in Hartford, CT is looking to add an experienced Underwriting Program Manager to oversee a dedicated block of Specific and Aggregate Stop Loss business. This is a key leadership role with ownership over pricing strategy and underwriting results, offering the opportunity to make a real impact within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

The position can be fully remote, with a hybrid option (2 days onsite) for candidates located within 50 miles of Hartford.

Compensation: $130,000–$160,000 base salary

Responsibilities: 

• Evaluate case information and risk factors to develop competitive and sound pricing recommendations for both new and in-force Specific and Aggregate Stop Loss accounts, in alignment with underwriting guidelines.

• Review large claim data in advance of clinical review to identify potential high-risk drivers and determine appropriate next steps.

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with sales partners, brokers, TPAs, underwriters, and other internal and external stakeholders.

• Advise clients and partners on stop loss structures and plan design considerations to ensure appropriate risk protection.

• Partner with the sales team throughout the quoting process to help position proposals competitively and strategically.

• Exercise independent underwriting authority while ensuring complete and accurate file documentation.

• Analyze submissions that fall outside standard guidelines and prepare well-supported exception recommendations for senior leadership review.

• Present clear risk assessments, financial impact analysis, and strategic rationale to support executive decision-making.

• Review, approve, or decline cases within authority, while offering guidance and alternative structuring recommendations to team members.

• Oversee assigned program workflow to ensure timely turnaround and balanced distribution of work across underwriting staff.

• Identify and evaluate key medical cost drivers impacting both new business and renewal accounts.

• Provide input to senior leadership on enhancements to underwriting guidelines, policies, and best practices.

• Mentor and develop underwriting team members to strengthen technical expertise, risk evaluation skills, and overall performance.

• Deliver ongoing coaching and structured feedback to drive consistent service standards and productivity.

• Partner with administrative teams to ensure documentation supports audit readiness and compliance requirements.

• Manage the portfolio to achieve targeted profitability and performance objectives.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge and understanding of healthcare payers, health plan administration, and medical service providers.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience

• 10+ years of medical stop loss underwriting experience

• Prior leadership experience (3+ years managing or mentoring underwriters preferred)

• Strong knowledge of stop loss pricing, risk evaluation, and healthcare cost drivers

• Proven ability to lead teams while partnering effectively with sales and external stakeholders

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills

• Highly organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting

The Shop Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient management and distribution of parts for our garage. This position oversees inventory control, coordinates parts orders, and maintains accurate records to support client needs. The role ensures technicians have the right parts at the right time by staging, delivering, and organizing inventory while also supporting dispatch. By keeping parts stocked, tracked, and moving efficiently, the Shop Lead supports the overall operational flow of the garage and helps meet the demands of daily service work.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain accurate inventory records for all parts, ensuring proper stock levels and timely replenishment (including stock counts, restocking, and organizing storage areas).
• Stage and prepare parts for upcoming service jobs to ensure technicians are fully equipped before dispatch.
• Perform regular inventory audits and troubleshoot discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy and control.
• Utilize computer software to track parts movement.
• Communicate with technicians and dispatch team to prioritize urgent part needs and delivery schedules.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, and transport of parts to avoid damage or delays.
• Support dispatch with light administrative or coordination tasks as needed.
• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, including reaching below and above shoulder level to retrieve parts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in a similar role (automotive parts, delivery, inventory, or fleet operations preferred).
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with fleet service operations or auto/truck parts a plus.
• Proficiency in inventory software (familiarity withShop Monkeyis a significant advantage).

Skills:

• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
• Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, particularly forMercedes, Ford, Ram, and Chevyvehicles.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Licenses:

• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical ability to reach below and above shoulder level to handle parts.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.

Venture Capital (VC) Senior Associate/Associate

All Venture Team members play a pivotal role as part of the investment due diligence process and post-investment, as part of scaling the portfolio company. As an organization, we embrace diversity of thought, listen with an open mind, think big and concretely, and invest with the mission in mind.

A VC Senior Associate/Associate helps execute our investment strategy by researching promising technology markets. We are currently seeking a VC Senior Associate/Associate to join our Technology Fund Venture Team for a period of 2 to 3 years (with opportunities to extend beyond 3 years) and help develop and manage an active high-tech portfolio. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or the equivalent
• MBA or master’s degree

• Work experience operating in a high-growth, early-stage FinTech, InsurTech, SaaS and PaaS company preferred
• Experience as a Founder preferred, but not required

Our Speech Language Pathologists supervise, evaluate and provide speech therapy services to clients in a home setting as prescribed by the attending physician. The SLP treats patients with speech disorders, swallowing therapy, and hearing impairments that affect communication.
