Primary responsibilities:

• Provides technical guidance and training relative to complex safety and airworthiness matters
• Coordinate with engineering teams, project administrators, and regulators (may include international regulators/validation authorities) to successfully certify projects for commercial aircraft production teams
• Review certification plans, write letters to regulators, and understand compliance process
• Leading cross-functional teams resulting in resolution of technical issues.
• Coordinate technical messaging and partnering with the FAA on regulatory issues
• Own, manage, and have/develop technical aptitude to enable execution of process/procedure documents (BPM, BPIs, D6s, D950s, etc.)
• Ensure proper coordination across products, platforms and functional areas to promote culture of compliance to requirements and application of procedures and FAA guidance
• Develop strategic action plans for changes to certification processes and execute those plans through completion
• Contribute to root cause corrective action plans for development and execution of noncompliance’s, voluntary disclosures, informal corrective actions, formal corrective actions, etc. including reviewing/researching processes, design practices, analysis, conducting root cause analysis, and identifying/owning corrective actions and corrective action plans

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience working directly with the FAA and/or ODA on Type Certification projects
• 5+ years of experience in developing, contributing and/or maintaining processes, policies, and procedures.

The Boeing Global Spectrum (BGS) Management Team is seeking a talented and experienced Regulatory Engineer - Spectrum Policy and Regulatory Affairs to support our group located in either Arlington, VA or Seattle, WA. 

This team is seeking a highly qualified regulatory engineer to support the development, coordination, and implementation of advocacy efforts related to the Company’s telecommunications and radio frequency spectrum policy interests. This position requires an understanding of satellite, aviation, defense, and telecommunications technologies, as well as knowledge of US and international radio regulations, government affairs, and regulatory processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting advocacy strategies, establishing and maintaining relationships with spectrum regulatory and policy representatives at both the U.S. national and international levels, and collaborating with industry leaders, trade associations, and other stakeholders to advance shared policy goals. This position is seeking a Level 4 or a Level 5 Regulatory Engineer.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering and technical analysis to underpin advocacy efforts on behalf of the Company’s telecommunications and spectrum policy issues before U.S. government agencies, such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the National Telecommunications and Information Agency (NTIA), as well as in international and intergovernmental organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), trade, and industry associations

The Safety, Security & Airworthiness organization is seeking to fill a Senior Manager position within the Enterprise Regulatory Administration team. This position is responsible for teams associated with the administration, oversight, and support of the FAA appointed Boeing Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Unit, including Engineering Unit Members, Inspection Unit Members, and Project Administrators who perform functions on behalf of the FAA. This includes overseeing the appointment, training, and annual assessment of the ODA Unit Members. This role will provide technical leadership to support the communication and resolution of complex regulatory and compliance issues with the FAA and ODA unit members.

The ideal candidate has experience in leading cross-functional teams, integration across IPTs, certification, safety, and systems engineering. The candidate will have the ability to lead and influence other organizations (programs, functions), the ability to take ambiguous and complex topics and clearly communicate intent, and to plan and drive outcomes. Coordination with regulatory agency counterparts and internal stakeholders will also be central to this role.

This position manages a direct-reporting team of first-level managers and non-management employees performing engineering and technical activities in the Systems Engineering skill area. Summary Pay Range : $181,900 - $246,100
