Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required
• Possess a current valid driver's license

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized maternal and fetal care for high-risk pregnancies in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including OBGYNs, neonatologists, and other specialists, to ensure comprehensive care.
• Participate in the teaching and mentorship of OBGYN residents and medical students.
• Engage in clinical research opportunities to advance the field of maternal-fetal medicine.
• Perform and interpret advanced fetal imaging, including ultrasound and invasive fetal diagnostic procedures.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine .
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
• Strong interest in academic medicine, including teaching and research.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Based in the 763-bed Level-1 trauma and academic health center, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital/Carilion Children’s Hospital, our program provides comprehensive otolaryngology coverage to over one million people in a large, rural, multi-state area. Otolaryngology services are also provided in several other Carilion hospitals, including Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, Carilion Giles Community Hospital, and Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital. The section operates clinics in three satellite locations in the region, with plans to open two additional sites in the future.
