POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a clinical expert, educator, and mentor for assigned area. Functions in a team environment to provide support to clinical practice.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
BSN is required. A national certification is preferred. Minimum of two years of full-time nursing experience required in Dialysis, five years preferred. Demonstration of experience in curriculum development and implementation of adult learning principles is required.
LICENSURE
State of Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required. Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider card is required.

Under general supervision, the Clinical Transplant Coordinator I will use clinical management, consultation, education and research to promote quality care for the specific transplant patient populations. Supports and maintains the University Health System's policies, protocols, values and guest relations. Directly accountable to the Director and the Supervisor, Clinical Transplant Nurse. May direct activities and services provided by personnel in assigned area, such as Licensed Vocational Nurses, non-licensed nursing and secretarial support staff.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with an RN and one year of nursing experience required. Will develop a plan to attain a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Knowledge of transplant, health care trends, community and regional resources. An ability to establish cooperative working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff and other health care disciplines and understanding of the consultative process.
LICENSURE
Current RN licensure in the State of Texas. Current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider certification required. Attain CITI research certification within six months from date of hire. (CITI certification is not required for coordinators in lung transplant, post-transplant, live donor transplant or disease management nurses).
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Provides supervision over assigned clinical staff in a designated clinic setting to effectively and efficiently administer nursing care according to physician's orders.
Communicates and enforces Policies and Procedures and Standard of Work.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Graduation from an accredited School of Vocational Nursing is required.
Recommend at least two years experience in an outpatient setting with progressive responsibilities.
Recommend at least two years experience in a supervisory/management position in a health care setting.
LICENSURE Must possess a current license to practice Vocational Nursing in the State of Texas.
Must maintain a current CPR Certification.
ACLS certification is preferred.
Performs the nursing process in a safe therapeutic manner in a designated clinic setting. Provides direct patient care (dialysis) and monitoring of renal dialysis patients. Oversees direct patient care of the ESRD patient on dialysis. Supports and adheres to University Health and department specific policies and standards. Mentors and serves as a clinical role model for all staff. Receives mentoring from Nurse Staff III and the Director of Dialysis Services.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
BSN is highly preferred. Must meet career ladder Staff Nurse II criteria for worked area. Two years or more of nursing experience required. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current RN licensure from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the state of Texas is required. National certification in Dialysis is encouraged.
Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Ambulatory and Hospital setting.
Clinics located throughout San Antonio including Boerne, TX.
Specialties range from preventative health to transplant services.
Newly-hired experienced LVNs in the hospital and clinic participate in our Nursing Orientation for Clinical Excellence (NOCE) program.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
At least one year experience in direct patient care is preferred. Current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card required. ACLS certification may be required based on site location. Various certifications may be required based on location site.

Provides clinical nursing leadership and acts as a facilitator, educator, and resource for the Detention Health Care Services team. Ensures that efficient, appropriate, and therapeutic health care is administered to DHCS patients while also ensuring that established security requirements are maintained (as defined by the Bexar County Adult Detention Center and Central Magistrate’s Office). EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
One year of clinical experience in direct patient care is required. Experience in correctional health care or nursing within an emergency environment is preferred. Prior knowledge or experience within the University Health System nursing services and certification as a Certified Correctional Health Care Provider (CCHP) also a plus. BSN is highly preferred. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification strongly preferred (Central Magistrate)
