As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. Facilitates communication with physicians, patients and families, and interdisciplinary team members. Adheres to MercyOne’s performance expectations and upholds the Mission, Vision, and Values of MercyOne.

Essential Functions:

• Conducts assessment

• Identifies patient problems and develops plan of care

• Implements outcome/goal - based plan of care

• Evaluates patient progress and revises the outcome/goal - based plan as needed

• Communicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goals

• Demonstrates clinical competence

• Manages telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable

• Provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit

• Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures

• Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

Schedule: 

• Evening Shift, .9 FTE (36 hours per week)

• RNs work 12-hour shifts 

Minimum Qualification:

• Associate degree in nursing required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Current Iowa RN license. Must obtain Illinois RN license within 1 year of hire

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required

• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if the unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities

• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire

Position: Medical Assistant (MA): Vascular Surgery

Location: Davenport, IA

Schedule: 36 hours per week, Day shift, M-F

Supports the operation of the clinical practice by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. This position is responsible for assisting physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, documentation, and basic clinical procedures. The Medical Assistant also coordinates patient flow, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring a positive patient experience.

Required:

· Must have successfully completed accredited Medical Assistant program.

· MA Certification/Registration preferred prior to hire and required within one year.

The lead serves as a resource for staff and liaison with clinic management to maintain high standards of care and service.  The lead functions as clinical support staff up to 90% as required to meet business needs.

• Oversees staff scheduling, onboarding, and education. Assists with payroll, timekeeping, and performance management. Assists in training, orienting, and supporting staff within the referral management team. 
• Recognizes and addresses issues, improving clinic flow and ensuring quality patient care. Responds to patient inquiries.  
• Actively participates in meetings, leads huddles, ensuring adherence to safety, infection control, and departmental policies.  
• Maintains supply inventory and order supplies as assigned.  
• Provides leadership, ensuring appropriate staffing, training, and support for the clinical team.  
• Collaborates with a variety of staff, leaders and providers to ensure delivery of quality patient care.  
• Resolve complex patient concerns, inquiries, and escalate to management as appropriate.  
• Monitors department operations, manages supplies, maintains confidentiality, and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and organizational integrity.  
• Leads or assists with quality assurance, staff development, and process improvement initiatives. Demonstrates proficiency in department-specific software and tools.  
• Escalate non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).

Education:

• Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. 
• A minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a clinic setting is required. 
• Supervisory or lead-level experience in a clinical setting preferred.

• Active RN License in the state of Iowa; Licensure from other states may be required based on location.    
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
