Radiologic Technologist, Primary & Convenient Care
Mercy Clinic Primary Care - South Division, Guthrie, OK
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires proficiency in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging and accurate documentation standards. Effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential for providing optimal care.
Operates all relevant imaging equipment, capture high-quality diagnostic images across various machines, and review and verify images for clarity and completeness before submission for interpretation.
Prepares, positions, and transfers patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process, and addressing any concerns, and providing radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
Administers contrast media under the direction of a physician and within the guidelines of the Radiology Department/Health System policies.
Manages and updates images and patient records completely and accurately in PACS (picture archival communication system)
Schedules radiology examinations correctly.
Charges for supplies accurately
Assists the radiologists and physicians in performing radiology procedures and locating films and reports in the Radiology Department.
Completes all required continuing education.
Performs clerical duties, as needed.
Other duties as directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program and completed required clinical hours.
Experience: no experience required
Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
Certification/Registration: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry or registry eligible. Achieved ARRT registry within 6 months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
