- July 27, 2026) Location: Washington, DC 20010 — travel nursing job in Washington, DC / DC nursing jobs Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) / Cardiac ICU Shift: Rotating Day/Night 12-hour shifts (07:00-19:30 & 19:00-07:30); contract offers both 3x12 and 4x12 hour shift options Hours per Week: 36-48 (depending on shift schedule selected) Patient Ratio: 1:2 Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required Float Requirement: ICU and IMC units Estimated Weekly Pay: $1900-$2000 Job Requirements / Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU RN / Cardiac ICU RN experience Active DC RN license (or proof of pending status at time of submission; must have license in hand prior to start) ACLS and BLS certifications required Travel nursing experience preferred Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms) Ability to float to ICU and IMC units as needed Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Two supervisor references required CCRN or advanced critical care certification preferred (optional) Responsibilities / Clinical Duties Provide expert critical care for adult and geriatric patients recovering from cardiac and major vascular surgeries Manage advanced cardiovascular equipment: VAD, ECMO, CRRT, Swan?Ganz PA catheters, pacing, IABP Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, arterial lines, intracardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips Administer blood products, emergency medications, and titrate vasoactive infusions Care for ventilated patients and manage high?flow nasal cannula and ventilator settings Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and lumbar drains; support procedural sedation and monitoring Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and high standards of patient safety Float to ICU and IMC units as needed to support patient care and unit needs Why This Travel Nursing Job in Washington, DC?
