The Firm seeks a highly organized and dependable paralegal who understands litigation practice and can also support non-litigation matters and day-to-day administrative operations of a busy law practice. This role is a hybrid position involving both paralegal and legal assistant duties.

The ideal candidate is litigation-savvy, detail-oriented, and comfortable wearing multiple hats—supporting attorneys with substantive legal work while also handling administrative and practice-management tasks. Limited exposure to real estate matters is helpful but not a primary focus of the position.

The paralegal is not authorized to engage in the practice of law and performs all duties under attorney supervision, in compliance with applicable Rules of Professional Conduct.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

General & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information
  • Serve as a reliable administrative point of contact for attorneys and staff
  • Manage calendars, deadlines, and scheduling for litigation and firm matters
  • Draft correspondence, forms, and routine filings at attorney direction
  • Maintain accurate daily time records
  • Assist with file opening, file maintenance, and file closing procedures
  • Answer phones, route communications, and manage messages professionally
  • Coordinate meetings, depositions, mediations, and hearings
  • Interact professionally with clients, courts, vendors, and opposing counsel
  • Assist with office operations and special projects as assigned

Litigation Responsibilities

  • Monitor court dockets and litigation calendars; track and manage deadlines
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, disclosures, and correspondence
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files
  • Prepare deposition summaries, chronologies, and document indexes
  • Assist with factual investigation and limited legal research
  • Coordinate service of process and filings in state and federal courts (including ECF)
  • Assist with electronic discovery and document productions
  • Support trial preparation, including witness and exhibit lists, pretrial materials, and subpoenas
  • Provide in-court or trial support when required

Limited Real Estate Support (As Needed)

  • Assist with document organization for real estate-related matters when they arise
  • Support attorneys with administrative aspects of closings or filings (not primary responsibility)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree, bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience in a law firm office
  • Strong familiarity with state and federal court filing systems
  • Experience with case management, docketing, and document management systems
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading ability
  • Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills

This role provides a unique opportunity to drive strategic decisions by providing critical financial and operational information, overseeing the financial planning process, and leading the company's financial forecasting.

You will be responsible for managing the financial health of the company by analyzing our financial performance and preparing necessary reports.

Responsibilities: 1.

Oversee the development and implementation of the annual budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.

2.

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow.

3.

Lead the strategic investment process by analyzing and interpreting financial data to evaluate potential investments.

4.

Provide financial modeling and analysis to support strategic initiatives.

5.

Use advanced Excel skills to develop financial models and tools, including ad hoc reporting and analysis.

6.

Work closely with the treasury department to manage company funds and forecast future financial positions.

7.

Ensure accurate financial reporting by reconciling the general ledger accounts.

8.

Use Oracle or equivalent software to streamline financial processes and reporting.

9.

Collaborate with corporate accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

10.

Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and manage the preparation of management reports of budget vs actual.

Qualifications: 1.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

MBA or CPA is preferred.

2.

Minimum of 8+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate accounting, or related field, preferably in the construction industry.

3.

Proficient in MS Excel and financial software applications.

Oracle experience is a plus.

4.

Strong understanding of financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.

5.

Experience in managing the annual budget process, monthly forecasting, and variance analysis.

6.

Proven experience in financial modeling and strategic investment.

7.

Solid understanding of treasury functions and cash flow management.

8.

Ability to reconcile complex accounts and have excellent attention to detail.

9.

Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.

10.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
