Hellmich, Hill & Retter, LLC is a civil defense firm seeking a full-time associate attorney to join its robust and growing practice in St. Louis County (Kirkwood). The firm represents a variety of clients throughout the state of Missouri in both state and federal courts. Our practice covers a diverse array of practice areas, including civil rights defense, employment, business, personal injury, real estate, title litigation, municipal law, and more.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Associate Attorney position based in Kirkwood, MO. The Associate Attorney will manage and execute various legal tasks, including handling cases in civil litigation, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court. The role involves working closely with clients and preparing cases for trial. You will collaborate with senior attorneys while managing a steady caseload across a variety of practice areas.

Qualifications

Some civil litigation experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider less experienced candidates who demonstrate particular ambition and aptitude. The ideal candidate will be eager to develop their litigation skills and hit the ground running. All candidates must have:

• A J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar license in the state of Missouri
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
• Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• The ability to function independently and as a team
