Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner for DOT Medical Exams (Part-Time)

Knight Health is seeking a professional, detail-oriented Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team as a Mobile Medical Examiner. This part-time opportunity is ideal for a qualified provider who thrives in independent roles and has experience with DOT-regulated services.
About the Role
As a DOT Medical Examiner, you will perform DOT Medical Exams at client locations, consulting directly with patients and assessing their fitness for duty under FMCSA guidelines. You?ll receive a pre-assigned patient list two weeks in advance and will be responsible for independently managing and documenting each visit. Your role will include reviewing patient histories, conducting consultations, identifying potential medical disqualifiers, and performing the standardized DOT exam.
You?ll also be expected to conduct DOT drug and alcohol collections, maintaining full compliance with federal protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct FMCSA-compliant DOT physicals at on-site client locations
- Review patient histories and assess for federally regulated disqualification conditions
- Engage in direct consultation regarding medical backgrounds and restrictions
- Collect and process DOT drug and alcohol test specimens (if certified)
- Accurately document exam findings and communicate results to Knight Health?s managing director
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and clear communication throughout each shift
Qualifications
- FMCSA National Registry Medical Examiner Certification (prefered)
- Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina
- Prior experience performing DOT Medical Exams

About the Role
The On Call Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible to effectively medically manage a panel of Longevity Health Plan enrolled nursing home residents in partnership with primary care team and deliver the Longevity Health Plan Model of Care after normal business hours. The On Call Advanced Practice Provider focuses on treating in place, uses clinical practice guidelines to guide treatment decisions and effectively documents member?s health status, functional status, and diagnoses. As part of the Clinical Team the On Call Advanced Practice Provider will be supported by Advanced Practice Provider Manager/Director and local medical director who provide education and guidance on best practices to effectively care for their members.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provides collaborative primary care and servicesto a panel of Longevity Health Plan Services after
normal business hours (evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays).
- Executes/delivers Longevity Health Plan Model of Care activities, treating in the most
appropriate setting, develops and implements advanced care planning, embraces, and executes treating in place model.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to members, loved ones and nursing home staff and member
advocate, educates care teams on member needs and early identification of changes in condition, notifying APP and On Call team for member changes.
- Delivers effective and frequent communication and coordination with members? PCPs, loved ones
and care team members on members? care needs, goals of care, treatment plans/changes.
- Supports overall market goals/targets.
- Promotes Longevity Health Plan with members, loved ones and nursing facilities and other

- Establishes meaningful relationship, able to effectively function in the nursing home

- Is member centric and customer service orientated establishing meaningful relationships that

- State unrestricted licensed Advanced Practice Provider with national AANP, ANCC, AACN, or

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
- Our Talented Advanced Practice Providers plan, evaluate, and implement high quality medical care with appropriate resource management to patients, both adults and children in cooperation with center physicians
- Adheres to the service and courtesy standard of Prisma Health Urgent Care by delivering the highest standard of patient satisfaction at all times
- Provides patient care within the respective clinical area which complies with the Professional Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and Prisma Health Urgent Care policies and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Board Certified (or Board Eligible) and Licensed to practice medicine in the state of practice

- Licensed Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in accordance with the state of South Carolina
- Current DEA registration
- Must be DOT certified
- Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses
- Experience with reading diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs
- BLS certification (we will provide this if needed)
- Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by WellStreet Urgent Care
- Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine preferred

MHS is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this unique and life-changing career, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home. Flex Houseparents play a vital role in creating a structured, family-like environment that fosters students’ academic, emotional, and social development so they can reach their full potential.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing daily supervision and mentorship
- Managing household routines and student schedules
- Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
- Driving students to activities, as well as planning and actively engaging in developmental and recreational activities with students
- Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
- Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
Upon hire, Flex Houseparents initially support various student homes and follow a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. On weekdays, houseparents have unscheduled time while students are in school. Flex Houseparents eventually transition into a Placed Houseparent role, where they live and work with the same group of students in their own student home.
