This role involves comprehensive patient evaluations for surgical suitability, along with managing conditions such as glaucoma and cataracts, and providing post-operative care. The schedule for this role is 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct 10-minute patient evaluations, seeing approximately 30 patients per day.
- Perform initial evaluations to confirm patients meet criteria for surgical procedures, receiving referrals from other Optometry practices.
- Collaborate with technicians who handle refractions and glare tests in two dedicated rooms.
- Manage long-term glaucoma patients, including medication management and follow-up appointments.
- Oversee post-operative surgical patients for conditions like cataracts and glaucoma.
- Conduct preliminary evaluations for surgical procedures, glaucoma management, cataracts management, and dry eye.
- Provide follow-up care and prescribe medication as needed.
- All refractions and glare tests are completed by technicians; the Optometrist will sign off on refractions.
