The Department of Urology at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking outstanding candidates for a faculty position in Urology.
The University of Miami, Department of Urology has a highly respected faculty practice with robust inpatient and outpatient consultation services, and a residency training program. Urology faculty participate in education of fellows, residents, and medical students through conferences, mentoring, and clinical teaching. Duties will include providing direct patient care to adult inpatients and outpatients in the University of Miami faculty practice or other satellite clinics, and inpatient consult services at the University of Miami Hospitals and Jackson Memorial Hospital. Requirements:

Job Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To):
- Patient care services, for patients at UMH (University of Miami Hospital), JMH (Jackson Memorial Hospital) and satellites and SCCC (Sylvester Cancer Comprehensive Center) and satellites. Patient care service responsibilities will be focused on the assigned specialty or specialties
- Gross description, taking photographs of the specimens when indicated, tissue sampling, microscopic examinations of surgical specimens, reporting of findings, and verifying coding diagnosis in the computer, in a timely manner(when applicable).
- Performing Frozen Section diagnoses in a timely manner (when applicable).
- Performing and reporting autopsies in a timely manner (when applicable).
- 24 hours call coverage according to assigned division/s (when applicable).
- Service productivity will be assigned according to the departmental compensation plan, previously approved by UHealth Compensation Committee.
- Participate in educational activities of pathology residents and fellows.
- Participate in educational activities of medical students.
- Participate in collaborative research opportunity to purse basic/clinical or applied research, collaborate with other investigators throughout the Medical Center and seek sponsored programs funding from grants and contracts.
- Participate in daily quality assurance and in the Department of Pathology hospital committees and working groups.

This individual will provide excellent rheumatology consultative and follow-up care at one or more Uhealth affiliated facilities to adult patients. He/ She will also provide inpatient and out-patient medical consultation in a variety of settings. Engagement in teaching and scholarly activities that are an institutional service and are seen as essential parts of the position, including participation in quality improvement and systems compliance initiatives, and Division/ Departmental Medical School and University-wide service and conferences.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain outpatient clinical practice at one or more UM-affiliated facilities to adult patients
- Maintain outpatient clinical practice diagnosing and treating patients with arthritis and other types of musculoskeletal diseases.
- Close Encounters within 48 Hours of visits
- Rotate on night and weekend call proportionate to other faculty. Rotate on attending schedule at all facilities.
