Position: HR Generalist
Job Type: 6–12-month contract/possible extension
Location: 700 Lavaca St, Austin, TX (Hybrid, approx. 2-3 days onsite)
Role Overview:
We’re looking for an HR administrative contractor to support our department with day-to-day HR operations and assist in the administration of Human Resources programs. The person will be focused on executing established HR policies and processes under the guidance of our Sr. HR Specialist. The goal is to ensure smooth and consistent HR operations across the department.
We need someone detail-oriented, reliable, and with basic HR knowledge. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling routine HR administrative tasks, can maintain discretion with sensitive HR data, follows instructions carefully, and has at least 2-4 years of administrative experience supporting Human Resources activities.
This role is hybrid, with the flexibility to work from home and come into the office as needed, typically 1–3 in-office days per week, depending on the business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain HR data, personnel files, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Process HR actions (FMLA, timesheets, personnel changes) and ensure compliance.
- Support recruiting coordination (job postings, interview scheduling, documentation).
- Handle onboarding/offboarding, including background checks and I-9 verification.
- Assist with HR policies, payroll coordination, and follow established workflows.
Experience & Skills:
- 2–5 years of HR administrative experience
- Familiarity with ATS or similar HR systems, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources management
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to follow structured processes without independent decision-making
- Discretion handling sensitive HR information
- Reliable and process-oriented
- Collaborative and flexible
