Job Summary

- The Cardiac Sonographer functions under the direction of the Manager or Lead/Chief Sonographer and is responsible for performing all cardiac imaging; which includes, if performed at your designated facility, adult, pediatric, transesophageal (including structural heart) and stress echocardiograms.
- Performs measurements and calculations according to laboratory protocol, provides an oral summary of preliminary findings to the interpreting Physician, if requested, is responsible for the safety and well-being of all patients in the Echo department, must possess the ability to communicate effectively with the patient(s) and health care team.
- The Cardiac Sonographer may also be asked to inject/administer Ultrasound Enhancing Agents (UEA) as well as saline bubble studies.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- Must be available to take call, work weekends and Holidays on a rotating basis.

Quality Control

- Ensures that equipment is fully operational prior to each use, by checking for proper calibration and operating deficiencies.
- Sends all studies to PACS immediately after completion, prints CDs as needed.
- Follows infection control policies.

Operations

- Restocks linens and supplies, and maintains the department in clean and orderly condition.
- Transports patients, positions patients, and helps them on and off procedure table.
- Performs patient charging activities on the day the service is rendered.
- Willingly lends knowledge and assistance to others upon request as needed and routinely as time is available, without prompting, so that all working time is used for departmental advantage.
- Performs routine duties of clerical and support personnel in accordance with procedure when warranted to ensure continuity and quality of services.
- Keeps supervisor informed on all responsibilities on an ongoing basis, ensuring prompt notification in the event of problems or potential problems.
- Maintains an individual productivity rate equal to other co-workers.
- Ability to operate all work stations associated with the US department.
- Ability to push / retrieve images from the Ultrasound console to PACS.

The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery requests to hire an APP to provide the upmost patient centered care in an ambulatory and inpatient setting with a multi-specialty group of plastic surgeons. This will include, but not limited to, ambulatory management of cosmetic and reconstructive patients, first assist in the operating room, and inpatient responsilibities to include rounding on all plastic and reconstructive patients.

Nurse Practitioner - Master's Degree in Nursing. Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body or currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of GA by the Georgia Board of Nursing Advanced Certification in the specialized area if required. Current American Heart Association, Basic Life Support(BLS). Must be fully credentialed by the credentialing office to work.

Physician's Assistant - Graduated from an accredited Physician's Assistant program. Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). The Infection Preventionist is responsible for activities surrounding infection prevention and control with emphasis on
surveillance, investigation, data analysis/interpretation, consultation, and education. Through these activities, the
Infection Preventionist supports the Hospital Infection Prevention Program to improve patient outcomes in all clinical
areas as assigned by the director. This role serves as the Infection Prevention Officer.

Surveillance: Demonstrates clinical competency and expertise in epidemiology. Demonstrates
understanding of NHSN definitions of infections used for surveillance purposes. Participates in the
development of a plan for routine surveillance of assigned patient groups. Conducts ongoing infection
prevention and/or control interventions and implements as appropriate. Reviews and interprets infection
surveillance data on a regular basis. Identifies clusters/potential outbreaks early.
Investigation: Initiates preliminary case finding and risk factor evaluation for the early detection of potential

identified. Reports confirmed exposures (patient and/or personnel) to the appropriate internal and/or
external individuals. Integrates evaluation of improvements into surveillance practice.
Consultation: Initiates and provides routine consultation relating to the implementation of established
infection prevention and control policies/procedures. Seeks internal and external consultation as needed to
increase expertise to ensure appropriate investigative/interventional measures are implemented. Advises
department manager, faculty, staff, and students regarding infection problems and recommended
prevention and control measures.
Education: Provides formal, problem-oriented educational programs as assigned. Provides informal

Registered Nurses provide quality nursing services by working with the patient care team to assess, plan, implement, and
evaluate patients' care and by providing a positive, supportive environment. The Registered Nurse is the front-line
representative of the patient care team often serving as the intermediary between the patient and family, the provider(s),
and other care team members. This role is expected to: participate in performance improvement initiatives; maintain
professional competence; develop others; uphold confidentiality, safety, and professional standards; and support Shared
Governance through service on councils or sponsored activities.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Patient Care and Care Coordination: Monitors, examines, and evaluates the patients conditions. Assists with
the care plan and takes appropriate actions to promote the patients short/long-term outcomes and wellbeing.
Delivers care plan as outlined, applying independent judgment where appropriate. Collaborates with
and communicates patient care plans with other staff, as appropriate. Prioritizes and coordinates optimum
daily patient flow and patient experience. Delivers safe and effective care according to policies and
procedures. Maintains appropriate documentation of patient assessment, changes in condition, care
delivered, education provided, and any incidents or exceptions related to standards of care or compliance
with hospital policy.

Patient Advocacy and Satisfaction: Listens to concerns, probes in-depth to understand the needs and
concerns, and responds to patient needs in an appropriately timed manner. Serves as an educational
resource for patients and families on health-related issues. Communicates necessary patient information to
family, licensed care providers, and other staff. Embraces the concept of patient- and family-centered care
to maintain patient, family, staff, and physician satisfaction. Prioritizes actions according to patient needs and
provides input into the plan of care by reporting pertinent information involving the patient and family to the
appropriate individuals in accordance with confidentiality standards.

Performance Improvement: Seeks opportunities to improve the work environment and processes.
Contributes ideas to help identify solutions and supports change implementation. Supports and contributes
to improvement initiatives aligned with achieving better patient quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff
satisfaction, and organizational financial performance.

Professional Competency and Growth: Maintains professional licenses and certifications. Completes all
required training. Self-identifies and self-manages training and development opportunities. Is involved in
professional organizations. Keeps current with research literature and industry best practices. Seeks
opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.

Professional Leadership: Fosters the growth and development of other nurses through mentorship and
preceptorship. Contributes to a positive and supportive work environment. Adheres to all confidentiality,
safety, and professional standards. Acts with professionalism embrace shared governance principles and
demonstrate integrity. Holds self and others accountable for practice by participating in the peer feedback
process. Positively promotes the nursing profession and assists with the recruitment of nurses to AU Health.
Other duties as assigned.
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

- Associates Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor or ACLS-P - ACLS-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact

What You'll Do:

- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care-assessment, triage, intervention, and evaluation.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to critical situations and codes.
- Educate patients and families on care, treatment, and discharge instructions.
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation in compliance with WellStar standards.

What You'll Bring:

Experience:

- Minimum 2+ years of recent, direct ED RN experience.

Education:

- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).

Licensure/Certifications:

- Active RN license (Georgia or Compact)
- BLS - Basic Life Support from AHA.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
